I bought yobresal's $180, 445nm 1W build. It came with a copper heatsink, battery charger, batteries and the wonderful laser. The packaging I wasn't too proud of, the paper envelop was very crinkled and ripped open in small patches. I told him about this, and he said he will package differently from now on. But, this is mostly due to the fact that UPS throws packages around a lot.

Anywho, the laser host looks is smaller than I expected, but very close. The heatsink has some nice weight and seems to cool well. The 405 lens was loose from no spring in between the focusing lens and the module (the heatsink itself is the diode housing). But, no spring is good, as over time metal shavings can add up and damage the diode. That was solved by some teflon tape. The laser has an AMAZING beam indoors, even though I shouldn't be looking at it without goggles in the first place. It instantly burns stuff. It is a nice deep blue color, almost violet depending on what lighting your eyes are used to. Overall, very impressed.

Here is the first, fast preview of it

Here are pictures of beam shots. I would have uploaded the pics to LPF itself, but I did this for full resolution pictures.

Glad to hear the laser works for you! Seems you got a good price on it, seeing it came with a battery and charger. Owning a similar host, I will have to agree that they are a great host. Hopefully you have good focusing now they you put teflon on the threads of the lens. The beam looks nice on the laser, and you have some nice beam shots!

One thing a lot of people here are going to probably ask, or at least with company lasers, is What is the divergence?

How to calculate that, You measure X inches from the aperature, and take a measure how wide the beam is. Then take a measurement at X inches away, and measure again. I usually do 10-15ft at a wall. Then you enter it into the calculator link i posted below, and it will give you your divergence. Along with this, you can also use it to estimate how wide your beam will be at X feet. Given you measured accurately.

Hope you enjoy your laser! As always, Be safe!

Thanks. I thought it was a good price also, considering I could build one for only $20 less and risk my clumsy self killing a 50 dollar diode and 30 dollar driver.

I dont know the divergence. And wouldn't it matter how I have it focused to create an accurate answer?

Well, I will be making a PHR-803T very soon. I ordered the sled, and am waiting for a few extra dollars to transfer into paypal so I can get a micro boost set to 95ma.

And once you get the heatsinks for me, I am off to fixing my 250mW red :)

Yes, thats what I thought, but I knew it wasnt that big.

Well, my next build is PHR, than I repair my 250mW red, and then maybe do a 12X violet
