I have a convoy with a Lifetime17 made copper heat sink and I put in a 525nm nugm03 doing 880mw through a 2 element lens.

Now that you've got a laser with terrible divergence issues, you need one with great divergence. Any single mode laser diode will do. Unfortunately, the only one that comes close to a full watt of power is also a 405nm diode, which is not terribly visible. It is so close to UV that it is hardly visible at all. It is still one of the most power dense beams you will get from a direct diode laser.
