Recently I picked up from auction this 1W 532nm module. Seller marked it as “For parts or not working” and in description was written that it gives very low power. “8mw” seller has good ratings so it was more likely a 1W unit before it died. Even if it can’t be repaired, it has a host diode and driver for future projects.

It’s “Class 4 Laser product” this means more than 500mw.

Price: $60USD

I looked through some sites and found that it’s old CNI host (or maybe it is). And Laserlands are selling 473nm units in these hosts.

I think that is a good deal cause pump diode and driver are fully functional.

I will be posting a results when I will receive unit. Your help will be appreciated as I’m planning to repair the unit. :)

Your opinions and expectations are welcome :thanks:

Not a bad deal. Hope it is something easy to repair and doesn't need a lot of expensive parts to get it up and running. I have one that does 1350 mW. They are nice lab lasers and, as diachi mentioned, a great way to experiment with DPSS systems.

I wish you the very best of luck. If you need help with realignment, ultimatekaiser is very good with DPSS units. :)

Thanks! I’m sure I will need Paul’s help with driver too, because first thing to do is to somehow power up driver.

I like realignment very nice job. My wish is to go for a trip to China just to visit CNI and try all those units  :p

Sure. Post some photos when you receive it. These drivers usually need to power source which you can buy cheap on eBay if it doesn't have one. I recall the last time I looked they were very inexpensive for brand new units.

btw.. I have fully working Laserworld 300mW 473nm DPSS, which I could consider to let go for a fair price... It's been collecting dust few years now..

How much are you asking for it? I’m interested!

Before the blue direct diodes came out, this was your only option for a blue laser, besides the argons.

Same for greens. 532nm was the only option apart from 543nm HeNe’s. Let’s hope that we’ll be saying that about yellows soon.
