Ok i have a question. It "may" have been answered before i just cant seem to find the answer. What i want to know is..... I have a 18650 Battery and it seems like it "may" be protected. What im asking is, could i use a "normal" 18650 charger or do i have to buy a special charger for 18650 protected?

I dont want to burn my house down or have shrapnel flying all over the place!

Help is appreciated thanks.

Any charger would work, whoever i would check back the voltage every hours or so and touch them to see if they are still cold.

A normal charger will work fine.

You can tell if a battery is protected by the '-' end having a circuit board instead of a metal end. The difference is pretty obvious.

Most protected ones say so on the case, also they are a couple mm longer then a unprotected one. And I've seen protected ones be slightly larger in diameter also. They would not fit into the host, where a unprotected one would. (rare case, I'm sure)
