1364nm YVO4 coatings for 593.5nm KTP

Dose any one have any source for doing Nd-YVO4? For 593.5nm KTP crystals.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Sorry for hijacking your thread, but how are you making a Sonar of every different wavelength?

His sig is meant to be a joke. That's how.

OT again, but are trying to DIY a Yellow DPSS?

I'm sorry, but can you please elaborate on what you're trying to do. As far as I know, neither 1364 nor 1360 are lasing lines of ndyvo4, and even if they were, they sure as hell dont have anything to do with 593.5nm

OT? But I haven't decided yet. I have 50 of them. I might keep a few to DIY a yellow dpss. And maybe sell the rest. But I need to have them finished.

50 what? In any case, I gotta tell you - don't expect to manage a DIY 593.5 DPSS. I've yet to even see an impressive DIY 532nm DPSS, and 532nm DPSS is like basic arithmetic in the face of 593.5nm being abstract calculus.

Your right I messed that up pretty bad. Its HR 532nm/HR 1064nm/HR1342nm/AR 594nm on the output side. (and thats finished). All they need is Nd:YVO4 on the input side.

Its not really that much different then doing 532nm DPSS. But still. I said I haven't decided if I'm going to do a DIY with one of them yet. I got 50 of them to sell. But I need to have them finished with Nd:YVO4

Hey, 50 of what?

Ive been looking for a cool laser project could you elaborate as to what you have 50 off?

Thanks :)

He has 50 Sonar 2 cases.

LoL, funny!...

I have fifty 593.5nm(YELLOW-DPSS) KTP crystals.

They are not finished though. But to finish them, is an easy job if I can find who can do it.

The rare part is the output side (HR 532nm/HR 1064nm/HR1342nm/AR 594nm) - And thats finished.

What they need, is to be polished and coated for Nd:YVO4 on the input side. And thats a very basic coating.

So your saying "Shine green in, get yellow out?" If that's the case, I'd probably like to buy some of those crystals.

Re:  1364nm YVO4 coatings for 593.5nm KTP

Crystals aren't magic things you just shine one type of light into and get a different type out the other end. The project you're talking about isn't impossible, but judging from what you've posted, you are understimating the difficulty of the task by a few orders of magnitude = a great recipe for failure :-/. Definitely requires additional research

"What they need, is to be polished and coated for Nd:YVO4 on the input side. And thats a very basic coating. "
What? From your posts, it seems you think Nd:YVO4 is a coating? Nd:YVO4 (Neodymium doped ortho-vanadate) is another crystal. The Nd:YVO4 is is more crucial than the KTP in fact as it needs to lase properly at the 1064 and 1342nm frequencies you mentioned. You keep calling them yellow KTP crystals as if they're special ones intended for making yellow. However the special part of the process that separates it from making 532nm is with the Nd:YVO4 crystal. The KTP also completes a different process as a result, but very specially coated/aligned Nd:YVO4 is essential for any chance whatsoever of making use of the KTP for 593.5nm. Why not use the KTP for something easier like 532nm DPSS instead?

Re:  1364nm YVO4 coatings for 593.5nm KTP

I wouldnt mind giving one of these a go :) After reading this thread, I am still however a tad bit confused. Which part do you actually have? Are these crystals a purplish coulour or fogged / white? Any macro shots?
