130mw Blu rays ?  Sweeet !

Re: 130mw Blu rays ? Sweet !

Nope - I think you are reading it wrong.  That is Blu-ray....405nm, or near UV.  "Blue" is 473nm....and, the 130mw Blu-ray is already in place, that article actually says they have figured out a way to make it twice as fast :)

130mw Blu Rays ?  Sweeet !

Oops  :-[, can you change the thread name for me  :-X

****edit fixed title ;)****

130mw Blu Rays ?  Sweeet !

What! There are 130mw violets!?  :o Were can you get them!? :o

Re: 130mw Blu rays ?  Sweeet !

Take a look at eBay, there are buy-it-nows for $400, and auctions at $200! You could get a laser that burns stuff that's violet at a higher output that a lot of greenies for the same price! But then there's the problem of frying the diode so easily. But still, some guy who knows electronics could make a fortune selling those as laser modules.

Thought I might revive a little piece of LPF history... I can't believe people used to be worked up over 130mW! This diode sounds like a PHR diode... but instead of $12 its $400 ;D!

Just imagine if you could travel back in time...buy up a whole tone of cheap PHR's today, and then travel back and sell them for the prices they were going for back then.

Re: 130mw Blu rays ?  Sweeet !

Then id came up with a 6x selling it for 500$, couple week later a 8x 500mW for a thousand!!! PROFIT!!

Re: 130mw Blu rays ?  Sweeet !

then we would be fighting over this time machine, not diodes as Jake would get it and go back in time and beat your prices ;D ;D ;D
