100mW argon Laser on ebay

Re: 100mW 473nm Laser on ebay

Well, at least he as good feedback on other stuff.. and at $575 it is a steal if it really delivers 100 mW of 473. $85 shipping is a bit steep though ;)

For me it says shipping is only $24. I guess it varies on where you live.

8 amps, and this is from spectra physics. It is definitly an argon. Good deal since there is the PSU AND the head.

Re: 100mW 473nm Laser on ebay

Yep, definitely an Argon. I wonder if it's multiline? And if it really does 100mW that's really good for a small air-cooled one. Mine is the same size, with low hours, and I only get 40mW at 10 amps!

Re: 100mW 473nm Laser on ebay

Yeah, the 110mW was when it was built in 2001, output could be anything at this point depending on how heavily it was used

Re: 100mW 473nm Laser on ebay

Yeah, not sure I want to shell out $600 for a 100mW argon of unknown condition.  Looks like a nice little compact unit AND looks like the plug is a standard US wall plug... so maybe 110V operation?  Maybe if the guy had a "make an offer" option, I'd do just that, but I think I'll pass.

But, from what Google can find, it looks like it might be multiline?

But, looks like many of the 163 series are single line, 488nm, though it looks like there is variation on that depending on the model.

Re: 100mW 473nm Laser on ebay

It seems yobresal searched "blue laser" and just assumed any results would be 473nm.

I can pretty much guarantee it's not 110mW. More like 30 at 8A. I have this exact model with only ~700 hours and it only spits out 50mW at 10A

It is single line 488nm. Great laser, though probably not worth $600. The hour meter is inside the head, only two hex screws need to be removed to view the hours.

Re: 100mW 473nm Laser on ebay

I'm thinking the seller corrected his add. This wouldn't be the first ebay ad that has needed correcting. I had to let a seller know just a few days ago to correct his add from 473nm to 405nm. I search "blue laser" in ebay everyday and am well aware of the differences in wavelengths. How's about a nice blue laser vid to lighten things up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdRyLxndETM .........on second thought maybe I just saw a blank wavelength and filled it in to fit my desire.

Thanks, I have been meaning to make more videos but I have been on 11 hour days 6 days a week. Hardly leaves time for lasers. I still manage to build a few lasers here and there.
