Even though you grabbed the last of the discount lasers just before me, that didn't stop me from ordering one anyway. After reading another positive review of this unit, I'm confident I will be quite happy with it.

I guess you will get the case too! :o[/quote]

Apparently, roSSco and I had PM'ed Frothy about the last one within minutes of each other, so he let me purchase one of their regular stock of these units for the same price.

Tracking says it just arrived at my house, can't wait to get home from work and try it out!
:D

Nope, no case.
I just got home and checked it out, and it is awesome.

The graph is quite a bit more sporadic than daguin's, peaking at 173.9mW with a ten-minute average of 128.6mW. It stays above 130mW for over the first minute of operation, and then bounces around quite a bit (from ~105 to ~140).

I can't wait to break out the balloons, matches, and black-plastic remote controls. :)

Cool deal! I've been playin with mine a bunch tonight. I was playing with some lenses from an old zoom lens and found a piece w/a lens that fits over the head like a glove. It expands the beam wonderfully!

I'll post some pics in a bit...

Standard beam shot @ 20'

I'm using some of my hard drive magnets to hold up a dark towel over the door to have something dark to shine it on. :D

With lens @ 20'

This pic doesn't do it justice. I took it outside and when shone on a tree ~300' away there was a ball of green so bright I could have seen a possum!

Lens on the laser. It's an almost perfect fit. Just a little paper rolled up to keep it from slipping off and, viola!

Aside from being an awesome effect, there is an awesome focal point about 6" out that will ignite an unsharpied match instantly.
