Hello,
First of all, I know you guys aren't medical professionals, but I'm looking for some insight until Monday when eye doctors are open.

I recently purchased a 1.5W laser using the NDB7875 module. I ordered glasses at the same time, but they did not show up before the laser did. I didn't want to use the laser before getting the glasses, but I decided to make sure I put the batteries in correctly.

The room was smokey from incense and pitch black. I stood in the corner of my room and aimed it at my black painted nightstand (13ft away). I turned on the laser for almost exactly a second before noticing i missed and instead hit my shiny watch on the top of the table. It did reflect into my eye but I closed my eyes as fast as I could, and had the laser shut off within 1 second.

My eyes seemed fine and still seem fine 24 hours later. No alterations to my vision what so ever. No floaters, no burn in image, no blurriness/wavy lines. My vision feels as sharp as ever.

I replicated the event with a 5mw laser of identical wavelength, and it appears to have spread the beam out dramatically almost painting the whole wall.

So my question is, is it possible to be fine right now, but have issues come up later? Or did I get extremely lucky with the situation? I know you don't know the answer, but if anyone has a more "likely" scenario based off experience I would be very grateful.

Either way, I do have my od6 glasses now. Thank you guys for all and any help!! :))

Be on the safe side and get your retina checked/looked at/investigated ASAP by a qualified eye specialist MD with the equipment for that purpose. --neither you or anyone on the internet can check your retina.

go to a hospital Emergency Room and/or consult a qualified Board Certified MD Ophthalmologist ASAP.

I disagree. You're fine.

There are always going to be people that insist you get every scrape and splinter and burn examined in the emergency room JUST IN CASE. If you're the type of person to do that, no one's stopping you.

Easiest way to put your mind at ease and eliminate any doubt rather than imagine the situation is one way or the other, is to see an Ophthalmologist MD and get your eyes checked and an opinion as to eye health, same as is done by most people on a regular basis from time to time under ordinary circumstances anyway.

Either way, good luck and hopefully is a lesson about laser use, reflections, and accidents learned.

If nothing shows up right away, I have deep doubts it will later, like huge doubts... That said (my favorite phrase), if you are truly worried, what the hell are you doing asking a bunch of non-medical qualified forum members? That said, I understand your concern but for myself alone as an unqualified opinion, I have no concerns for you regarding having problems in the future.

It may end up with LPF getting hurt-- I think most senior members would prefer that such threads are not posted here..
