Hello,
attached you will find pictures of tmy laser driver test jig 2.0.
I like this construction, because it is simple to contact any driver with this jig.
I made the connection rods from 1,6 mm bronze TIG welding wire. This rods are hard enough to produce sufficient tension to the contact...
Hello,
please don´t quarrel!
As I said, it is just a quick and dirty construction. Paul is right, I need another contact, if the holes of the driver output have a different distance.
The power input will work for different distances.
I always got good advice from Paul and I think, he is...
Hello,
as I told you, I did not like the design of my first laser driver test jig. Today, I built a very simple one with wooden clamps. It looks cheap, but ist work well.
best regards
Edgar
Hello Paul,
thank you for your information.
I finished the driver test device. It works well, but I do not like the design. It is to complicated and can`t be changed easy for drivers with different dimensions. For the power supply, I used two Li accus, so the driver is still alive.
I understand...
Hello,
my test device for laserdiode drivers is under construction. The construction is more difficult, then I thought before starting.
The contact holes of my 1500 mA driver have a distance between 8 mm and 3 mm. The problem is the 3 mm distance.
I am still thinking about how I can contact the...
Dear Paul,
the positive cable of the load was soldered, the negative was screwed, so both connections well done. After that, I connected the Driver with the power supply.
Nothing happened! After that, I checked the dummy load again, everything was ok.
Then I took my last 5500 mA Driver and set...
Hello,
today I had bad luck again with a 500 mA buck/boost driver. It was not from DTR!
I connected the new driver to my dummy load of 6 diodes and a 0,1 Ohm resistor. Nothing happens, no curent draw from my laboratory power device.
After checking the wiring, the same result. Is it possible to...
Hello,
I also set some Drivers this way. I think, it is a save way, if Driver and Laser Diode fit together.
It will not work, if you use a high power Driver with a 200 mA Diode.
For current setting i use this nice multimeter...
Hello,
what is wrong with a 1Ohm dummy load resistor?
Have a look at the DTR thread: https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/dummy-load-batteries-for-m140.87938/
I use 0,1 Ohm and 1 ohm resistors, it depends on the maximum current.
best regards
Edgar
Hallo,
it is only the base that looks vintage with its curved legs. New lathes look similar, with the exception of CNC machines.
What type of bearings has the main spindle?
best regards
Edgar
Hallo,
nice attempt. I think, it is not your Video, because:

Hello,
since I started to join this forum, I built some custom made and/or modded flashlight laseerpointers with different colours and laser power.
1. 405 nm 500 mW
2. 450 nm 1,2W; 1,7 W: 7W+
3. 465 nm; 1,8 W
4. 488 nm; 150 mW
5. 505 nm; 150 mW
6. 520 nm; 800 mW
7. 635 nm; 200 mW and 700 mW...
Hallo,
I like the second laser. Is it build from aluminium?
Can you please give me a tip, which tailcap switch I can use for my own custom built laserpointers?
At the moment I use switches from cheap flashlights, but they are not built to handle big amperage.
best regards
Edgar
Hello,
a week ago, I got my new diodes from laserlands together with a free gift, an antistatic band to connect with my wrist.
I tested one diode with my test device and it worked fine. After connecting it with a tested 500 mA driver, I set the driver to max. 300 mA.
One of my glas lenses...
