Snowluck, One look at it tell me the work is done in a hurry. Very poor workman ship, unskilled work. Watch some videos in u tube. You can use a suitable iron to do the work. It will be messy to unsolder and try again. Start a new , one component at a time. Use a bare minimum Paste and...

My advice is keep the cost down Osmosis. Ben Is right . Don't ever try tin can and propane. If your skillet is well trusted, use it don't spend 1 K for the plastic welder. You have to watch out for the cooling curve that has been discussed. Mass production , well leave it to the professionals...

Build almost done!! 1 fast question.

You can use a multimeter to measure the current. But if you use an ammeter to measure the current , you have a multimeter handy to measure other thing around the circuit. Get the table at REUK.CO.UK. LM Current Calcultor

Build almost done!! 1 fast question.

You can buy a dummy test load.. These dummy test loads comes in various input Current. If you use a low one it may blow. Use a higher capacity. Don't use a multimeter. Buy an ammeter, connect it in series to the load. If you know the total value of the resistor and the voltage supply , you...

Build almost done!! 1 fast question.

Blord is right a DVD red laser diode can't handle 500ma. You will fry it. I know cause I have fried one laser diode that way. Start with 300ma. Then try to tweak it slowly. If it turn bright suddenly turn it down immediately to save the Diode.

Using glue to keep you SMDs in position. Am I right, the glue is not in contact between the component and the conducting area . I had modem where a smd resistor was blown off from its location during a thunderstorm. I found it and it tested good I couldn't solder it back. After many attempts...

Dear Tom Steele, It is really difficult to obtain SMD parts. Yes Malaysia manufacture a lot of chips but not SMD components. I have an account with Element 14 for a number of years. You cannot buy small items , just a piece, you have to buy minimum 10 pieces when you only need 1. This...
