Dumb? Look at this guy's rep. I mainly use my 50mW outside to point out stars, so I don't use goggles. I would recommend goggles if you were burning or using it indoors(but you can't really burn with a 50 anyway).

From what I've read, you don't need goggles for a 50mW if you are careful. You should get some if you are ever going to get a 100mW or higher though!

So have you tried burning things yet? I could not get a match to light even when focused rigjt, but I was able to light a fuse and pop some balloons. I'm glad your laser is all better!

Based on what I have read, it seems that Lazerer's single mode 445nm lasers are ALOT brighter than any violet laser. Would I still have a visible beam on the 50mW 445nm? Any help would be appreciated.
