I do have the batwing on my Aixiz lens. Buy maybe my G-2 is broken. IMO it's not worth an extra $35 to figure it out. Maybe in a while I'll buy another G-2 and see if it's any better.
Thanks for letting me know.
I believe it's not positioned correctly. I had to put it in a different holder, and I'm guessing that I did something to it during that transplant. I spent like and hour wiggling it around last night trying to get it centered, but I couldn't.
I realize that :) that but being a flashlight...
I just finished a 2W 445 build, and I love it. But my G-2 lens is putting the beam out crooked and there's a TON of spill out to the sides, and even when focused the focal point is more of a line.
My three element (maybe single element) lens from a few years ago produces a much nicer...
I actually think the problem you are having (as described) might be a bit different then the problem I'm having.
If you put a small spring between the diode and the lens housing it will prevent wobbling of then lens shaft.
Thanks for the rep! I'm not trying to sound like a douche, but the beam does look really good. I'm super happy with it (other than the angle part).
Lol, it's a 40cal. I just used the case since it was the only black thing to set the heatsink on... Didn't think anyone would recognize it. The...
It's pretty beefy, that's for sure! I'm using a 1.8amp x-drive by lazerzeer (i's that how you spell it?).
Also, I need some help. The beam is coming out of the lens at an angle... I'm using a G-2 lens. How can I straighten it out?
Thanks!
I tried building a 1W 445 laser a few years ago, but I didn't really have the tools or knowledge to do a good job on it. However, after a year of college I am a whole new person :) (a joke).
Anyway, I'm working on a 2W build out of an old, very expensive, flashlight. I'm using a FourSevens...
I see your point (and I hadn't thought of it) but I feel like most people who would be irresponsible with such a laser would really not have much of an idea how much 2W really is (when focused and collimated). I could be wrong though.
I don't have my own kit, but in my sophomore physics class (high school) I took a course on optics and we made some with a similar kit. Because of that I have a hologram of a zippo lighter around here somewhere. Holograms are fascinating.
I'm building a pretty standard 2W 445nm handheld laser. I know it doesn't sound too exciting, but I am really trying to make it look good.
I'm building it into a FourSevens MMU host which I paid $120 for a year ago. Eudaimonium is machining a heatsink for me, and assuming it fits as planned I...
I feel like the power to run a 50W laser would have to by VERY high, and even to make it portable it might still have to be in an HID flashlight host - some of which can supply 80W HID bulbs. Would definitely be interesting to see though!
I would feel like a Jedi if I had one of those hanging...
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I'm really curious as to whether or not the final beam is still a "laser" because would the light from all three emitters be out of phase with each other? And combining them will still produce the same color, but the final beam will no longer have laser...
Re: FS - The Cypreus-IIb 1x18650/2x18350 - "EasyBuild" Copper Host by Sinner
Can I buy one of these focus adapters only? And if so, could you make it out of aluminum? Thanks a lot.
Didn't even cross my mind. And since the host I'm using is a 26650 host I wouldn't have to buy an 18650 adapter tube (which I would use 2x 18350s in) and my run-time at 1W with a 26650 would almost be 6x a 2W with two 18350s.
Is it the big resistor on the side of the driver that I have to...
Thanks. I thought it would be fun to do something other then blue, but it would be double the price for me to buy a new driver and red diode as it would be for me to just buy a new blue diode.
