    FS: Various things -- Interests?

Let me know a location and I can run a estimator via usps. Usually when shipping over seas ( finland was my normal ) the costs are a bit upwards of 15 to 25 but weight and location depends. Im use to hundreds but thats because shipping 60 pounds of electronic goodies to finland xD. Hes tought...

Looking for specific goggles..In business anymore..?

Yeah ive pointed a 1W through them before and had no light pass through...the light just got absorbed by the lens. They do make multiple models because I saw some of theres that can block 445 are rated for looking at a 10W dot on the wall and others 100W dot on the wall.... maybe its just me...

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

Thanks for the words ^^ I'm more/less just surprised it came out, period. Going off the fact that my school's first year class, the most advance thing we did was turn diameters to specs, Thread reliefs, and cutting big diameter threads with big tooling. The class never went over how to make...

Looking for specific goggles..In business anymore..?

USA yep yep!!! Thanks, Faaaaaar different layout than they were before by far. But good to see they're still up and going. You guys have any opinion on their products/quality? I've never handled very many glasses, I was reading a thread long ago awhile I was waiting for my arctic order, way...

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

Some updates on the host. So, Got the lathe all cleaned up and working. Now we just lack tooling. Just a parting tool, at least. We have cutters, and a boring bar. Then of course my DIY thread cutter which, works perfectly. Seen here, I redid the threading, MUCH cleaner. So....The...

Looking for specific goggles..In business anymore..?

Hello! So... Working 3W 445nm laser. I've been out of the loop for over a year now, slowly coming back lightly. Well, I recall ages ago that the pair that came with the WL arctic -- are crap. The laser's "dot" on the wall, at a distance, is still fairly bright...even when it was a 1W laser...

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

Yeah, by far it was the best aluminum i ever machined. it took me a matter of minutes to turn 8 inches of 2" stock down to 1.5" diameter with only a few passes, and i had no strings to pick up, it was just a massive pile of tiny broken chips that were simply sucked up, easiest clean-up job i...

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

You know what... under further review...this laser host wasnt made with 6061-T6 aircraft grade AL. I did some comparason searches of 6061-T6 vs 7075-T6 and seeing people say 7075 chips break extreamly short, shines easily with surface finishes etc, this 'HAS' to be 7075-T6 aluminum, which...

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

*bump* As an update to this post for those who may be wondering 'what happen to the build, is it done?' etc. Here's some info. So as some of you know i finished college back in november 2013. This lead me with no access to machinery to finish things up. Our maker space recently got a lathe...

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

Would it not be overkill crazy if this was a laser pointer? xD It's not done yet. Still got lathe/mill/drill work to do. That as well as laser cutting stencils to do some artwork on the 2 outermost pipes :) This was also made from solid stock, and all the screw-together-points ( 3 ) are all...

Guess until I get my diode I start the next project. Light saber that'll run Crystal Focus :3

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

Thanks, I'm still working on a couple focusing ring designs. One way is the lazy 'threading' method where it would stick out if unscrewed far. My other idea was still threads, but having a nut inside basically that has 2 rodes that move it up/down. Then the focusing ring can spin for infinity...

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

Been quiet lately I know. I've been busy gathering stuff to make a lightsaber after i finish this. Oddly I'm still waiting on dead diodes etc that were shipped snail mail and its been >3 weeks. Hopefully they arent lost or something. Anywho. I cannot really do much more here besides make my...

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

Well, mind you I'm using a custom tool. My previous tool did rather nice threads because after hardening it, I polished the edges and gave it a 10 degree rake. But I found with mine looking like yours does, its a lot of little burs which once removed after extensive cleaning, seems to leave a...

My first build ( DIY from raw materials ) WIP

Oh yeah. Proper threading method is 29.5 degress and cross feed. With this I was at 60 degrees and simply moving my X axis. It works, the threads get a bit dirty until I blast out the little balls of snow-aluminum. Because this stuff when you cut it doesnt like making chips, it likes making...

    Tesla Coil Build Thread

Gaaahhhh I figured I might as well share a couple of my many coils since it's been awhile... So I made my own polyphonic interrupter running off of an ATMEGA128A 100% custom code built for my own application with duty limiting. Below are my 2 main coils I use often. a DRSSTC that runs using...

    Onetesla - Musical DRSSTC!

*bumps* Theres no OCD from what I recall on the OneTesla. I remember testing 3 of these boards, when they were the green models. It's an OKAY board in my opinion but the lack of OCD and phase shift REALLY angered me after awhile xD Looking forward to seeing your build. If you want I can...

Thanks ^.^ I'll be honest with you, for geek cred I'm tempted to make a clone / attachment to this for lightsaber stuff. Meaning the whole 10W LED + poly tube + Soundboard + speaker deal..Just because I always wanted to, and why not :3
