low power eye safe infrared laser?

If you go to Uni, then your Physics or something similar might have a LPM handy for you to test. If you want to spend the time, you can send the laser to one of the members on the forum. Personally, the most dangerous wavelengths are Green and IR. The reason for IR would be because people could...

    GIVEAWAY-Mtype M140 Laser Diode

It should come pretty quick. Royal Mail are very fast with mail and I live near the distribution centre for my area. I'll be looking forward to the driver and thank you for your generosity!

    GIVEAWAY-Mtype M140 Laser Diode

Oh yes, that would be awesome. I found a very good price for shipping from USPS (First-Class Package International Service™) which costs $16 which is a steal.

Oh man, I won!? Anyways, if shipping is around $20 dollars: thats around 10 pound which is pretty cheap. Auto, ill speak to you about shipping right now.

    RGB Dichroic Mirrors

Sorry for the double post, but I recieved my laser module for this project. I will put some beam pics someshere but for now, I need to buy the rest of the parts. I also need to make a wooden box to house everything because plastic is too flimsy and I dont have my hands on any metal. I will also...

Willing to give a laser to help the forum with donations

We could do that with google docs, that way we can distinguish who is donating and also wants to join the comp or people who are just donating. There might be a better way for a user to agree with a EULA, that way if they do win; there is no liability.

Has anyone experience a laser injury?

If you aim a laser at a window, the light will be reflected and may cause damage. IR could also causs damage. Dangers are different for each wavelength, for instance; green is pretty dangerous because of IR.

    RGB Dichroic Mirrors

Yep, I got a similar ratio after doing some calculations. I then started to look at more modules and then the thought struck me. I could use Tocket's Chroma program to see if I get a rough, different ratio. That way I can try to pick a white and then when it comes to it; adjust the beams...

Willing to give a laser to help the forum with donations

Just remember, if this is international; some countries dont allow fully made lasers into the country above 1mW (eg:UK). You would have to seperate it out and I think also say on the package that its private use. If customs finds out, you know the deal.

[Soldering Iron & Hands Unboxing] 08-13-15

One of my old teachers taught me that if you don't put solder on and get a black layer, you will get a insulating effect with decreases quality and eventually failure. So he always gave everyone brass wool to clean the gunk off the tips. You should NOT go all out on the tip, or you are removing...

    RGB Dichroic Mirrors

Ok, thats good to know. That means that I am able to use that OSRAM module. If I have the wavelengths for my RGB system as Red 635nm | Green 532nm | Blue 450nm and I want to get a good white balance, what sort of mW's do I need for the reds and greens to get a good white balance. Considering...

    RGB Dichroic Mirrors

Ok, I just bought a blue OSRAM 450nm module however I got a couple of questions on colour balance. This thing is supposed to have an output of 50mW. Now, to get a good colour balance; would output matter. For instance, if the blue is at the front, red is in the middle and green is at the back...

    RGB Dichroic Mirrors

I went with the flexmounts because of their relative abundance and that I get 3 of them. I will have to make a lens holder to hold the mirror in place. The plastic holder will mean that I will not have to stick the mirror into place, but stick the holder. Thanks for the help Diachi

    RGB Dichroic Mirrors

Thats exactly what I did, I bought 2 pairs of glasses which cover all of the necessary colours. Agreed, as the cost of mounts increase; so does the overall quality and ease of use. However, because I am trying to keep costs to a minimum to see how it performs. Fortunately, I am a very patient...

*MUST READ* amazing cheap laser goggles

We all know that we shouldn't guarantee cheap glasses but it would be interesting if people tested these glasses. They could even replace the HDE glasses which I have heard about so often.

Most dangerous laser user I have ever seen!!!

What a idiot, why the hell would you point a laser into your eye? He waa even getting reflections on his facr because HE WAS SHINING A LASER ONTO A PEN FROM 30CM AWAY! The idiot with the sunglasses even thinks that wearing them will protect you :twak: Thats like looking at a solar eclipse with...

    RGB Dichroic Mirrors

Thanks for the help buddy! I'll have to order 2 new goggles as I cant seem to find my old goggles. In the mean while, I should watch ebay until I can get a good mount or buy the techhood mounts and create a plastic holder for the optics without actually gluing them onto the mount itself. That...
