CNI Portable Green 500mW + Multimedia

Hey, thanks for the feedback, it was actually 16 balloons in 3 seconds. :D I'm happy to contribute to this forum that I like so much. I plan to do more reviews of new and old lasers.

    Cni gb

re: CNI GB Hey Glenn, I'm considering the following: - Beam expander for the PGL-III-C model, 10x - Diffraction gratings - all 3 kinds (star crossed, matrix, beam fan). - PGL-RG,150mW Can you update me on prices for those? Regarding the PGL-RG - can they set the powers so that the combined...

CNI Portable Green 500mW + Multimedia

I didn't know they have a fan cooled model, perhaps I would have bought it, depending on the price. Anyway I'm happy with my unit as it's a very high quality. I may be interested in some items from CNI, I'll post it on the GB thread.

CNI Portable Green 500mW + Multimedia

Small update on IR - the laser definitely includes an IR filter and doesn't emit IR. I've added an extra IR filter I took from the Spartan BP, and made another power measure, same result. Out of curiosity I tested this filter on a DX Dilda (Red), and saw its power dropping from 190mW to <10mW...

CNI Portable Green 500mW + Multimedia

Hey realista, I'm not sure how much it would cost without the group buy, but I imagine the discount was 10-20% at most. I had an idea how to test the IR emitted by this laser, the Spartan blue laser has an IR filter cap that can be removed so I'll use it, and update the post with the results...

CNI Portable Green 500mW + Multimedia

Greetings LPF members and guests. I've been working quite a bit on this review, mainly on producing the photos and videos. Finally I have everything I wanted to post, so here we go. I've divided the review to sections since it's very long. So where do I start? At the beginning... Purchase...

WTB: Neodymium Magnets (Got Any Lying Around?)

Hey Niko, If you want to use these magnets to make interesting structures, then go for spheres only, the other shapes I have (cubes, bars, discs, cylinders) can't make anything interesting. I know you're looking for used ones, but did you check the prices on eBay? If you want very big...

Whats brighter to you? Bluray or Red? (405nm or 650nm)

Blue is much brighter (to me at least) than both red and BluRay, it's not very much dimmer than green. For me red is much brighter than BluRay.

Kitten vs. Blue Laser (DL Spartan BP-20)

Well, did you try 473? ;) I have one cat that ignores my lasers (405/473/532/650), and 3 that try to catch them - any color (including this kitten, which is mine only temporarily). I think all cats and dogs see lasers, some are just not interested I guess.

    Too many Dildas

I have several DX Dilda 200mW (the old model), and they're all very good quality. The power is very stable over time, slightly different between units and varies between 180mw-200mw. I don't have any O-like lasers, but I think they have a good reputation in this forum. And you will need...

    New DealExreme 200mW Red Pointer

Hey, I noticed a new focusable DX 200mW red pointer, this one seems a bit different from the older two versions (Dilda and Dilda v2) - a bit more expensive ($59.31 vs. $43.02), different body, uses different batteries (CR123A vs. CR2) and described as "water resistant". Link: DealExtreme...

    Incredible Tungsten

I think the purity of this piece is much lower than advertised (84%), since 100% pure Tungsten with these dimensions should give 5lbs of mass (unless I screwed up the numbers), so 84% should be at least 4lbs. I might try this with the small pieces, it could be interesting. I'm happy for you...

    Incredible Tungsten

It IS great, I love having such a unique and special material. I guess most people also wouldn't understand how anyone can pay $1500 for a laser - it just makes a very strong beam of light, not very useful. It's not just a matter of hobbies, it's a matter of priorities. I have an old cheap...

    Incredible Tungsten

Very interesting, I looked it up on Wikipedia. Indeed I forgot to mention it has many applications. The most well known is light bulbs of course.

    Incredible Tungsten

Hey everyone, It's time this metallic element got its share of spot light and respect in this forum, after all the fuss around Mercury and Gallium and Bismuth. I have recently purchased several pieces of Tungsten and I'm simply amazed by it. Tungsten is fascinating, so much interesting...

    Multi-element GB (official)

Hey Mark, Instead of refunding my 25$ for the Indium, please order me an extra 1 pound and 4 troy ounces of Bismuth, so you can update my total order to: - Bismuth: 2 pounds and 4 troy ounces. - Tin: 1 pound. I appreciate your efforts, I imagine this is quite a head-ache for you, Thanks, Ohad
