LPF search didn't turn up anything, but I found out its a Sony CD-R/RW. Model number CRX217E-DS, rev A01. I think it's just an infrared diode. *EDIT* Apparently, it's red. And I burnt my tongue, ow.

Well, duh :P

I harvested this diode from a dvd drive, unsure of the model. All I can really show are some pictures I took. The sled has a QR code on it, the diode is unmarked. Can anyone help identify it?

As most of you might have seen, Survival Lasers made a new host available not too long ago, and thanks to feedback here on LPF, they offered it as an unmarked host kit! Here is a link to the host, in case anyone is interested: S4 Laser Host Assembly There are options to anodize the heatsink...

It has those two little grooves on either side of it.... I want to put tritium vials or something GITD in them!

I got my S4 unmarked host today.... It's awesome! I'll post a review of it tomorrow.

I've lit stuff with my 1W blue before... Of course, I was wearing my safety glasses, and the beam was pointed straight up and down, not into my face. It's a nice little cool thing you can do, but lighters are much better.

Are you ever going to offer an unanodized or stainless steel version of the S4? I'll be picking one of these up in the next few days either way :yh:

I can confirm this, I got hacked and lost every item and all my gold on all my characters. I had to have my account rolled back (can only do 2, EVER, sigh) and now I require a random authentication number (generated by an app on my phone) to log in. Other than that... DIII is amazing. I love...
