    Few garage sale finds

Hardin was shot to death in El Paso on August 19, 1895, by a man he had hired to kill someone else. He supposedly killed over 30 men, including the one for snoring, in only 10 years of his career of crime, from age 15 to 25. :wtf: Alan

    Post your random pics!

Same here, too many people do this, please take a photo next to a beer can or a dollar bill or some other item, but not a banana, they vary in size too much. Alan

    Solar Laser?

I think it will be very large and you will need a lot of money. Alan

    Greetings Beam Masters

Hello Matzi, welcome to LPF. No there have been several, at least 2 from South Africa, one was still active recently, and there have been at least 3 from Egypt but they didn't stay around, as far as I know no one from other African countries yet. Look here to see a list of where our members...

What are some high quality goggles

For what laser or lasers do you need them for? You can buy the Eagle Pair here: Safety Goggles For something better go here: Laser Safety Glasses, AixiZ or better yet here: Laser Safety Glasses, Goggles, Face Shields, Windows, Barriers & Curtains, Training, Signs & Labels |...

    Are we DOOMED

I was sort of joking when I mentioned lycanthropy, then I am listening to radio tonight and I hear about what's going on in the city of Hull in England. I did a search and it looks like there could be something to it. They are even organizing a hunt for the creature on the night of the full moon...

    700mw, 405nm

That diode is case nutral, who told you it isn't? I have never heard of a 405nm that is case negative or case positive. What 405nm diode is that? Then you have it just right at 450mA Alan

    So many idiots(not laser related)

This reminds me, I saw a news story a few months ago about the growing practice of extreme selfies, I don't remember where I saw it and I can't find it, but there are some people getting killed doing this just to get a really great selfie. Here's a short video showing some examples. Alan

    Win thread

I am not sure I would even walk on that. That reminds me there is also the Grand Canyon skywalk. Alan

    Are we DOOMED

It's too bad that doesn't also work for the full moon, although there's conflicting info, some studies say there's no difference, but police and people that work in hospitals say it's busier when there is a full moon, some even have extra people working on those days. Maybe we just have...

Question about Osram PLP450 diode driver from DTR

No need to be paranoid, that's not so much current. Any 18650 will last long enough at that power level. This would be perfect for a C6 build. Alan

    Is the buy/sell/trade section operating?

Not as many people are on here on the weekends, that includes the mods, it'll probably get approved tomorrow. Alan

Question about Osram PLP450 diode driver from DTR

Hopefully DTR himself will be along to answer this, if he doesn't see this then you can email him at the address on the home page of his site. Since the maximum suggested current is 300mA I wouldn't be surprised if it is set at 250mA but I don't know. Alan

    SURVIVAL LASER or dragon laser

If you buy the complete laser from Survival laser you will have no trouble assembling the laser. What I said about parts is different, those of us who assemble lasers ourself buy some of our parts from them. Alan

Need good glasses for 7+ watt 445

No not for only 1 second but I wouldn't be doing that regularly. I have a 1.5W blue and have viewed the dot without glasses at 3 feet or less and it is too bright to look at. If you see pink squiggly ~ lines after or spots for 10 seconds or more then you are probably pressing your luck. When you...

    Image size in your posts.

This is a good question, I expect one day we could have such high resolution that it is indistinguishable from something real, like the equivalent of looking out an open window. In time we may get there. Alan

    SURVIVAL LASER or dragon laser

If you are in France you might also consider BitLasers run by a member here named Grix, ships from Norway so it could be faster and maybe no problem with customs. They ship partly disassembled but no tools required. The parts bundles from the Survival Laser international site also require only...
