I have a question about the use of this sub-forum…

The description of this forum clearly says "Buy, sell, and trade lasers and/or laser pointers.", but I guess people won't complain as long as other stuff stays the exception.

    beam exspander with pbs cube

The very same question was asked by the same person here, and in various other places...

    Rather simple question.

    Yesss.

Do you log out from the forum (with the "LogOut" button top right), or "just" from Windows? If some others could post their experiences, maybe a pattern would evolve.

    UV Laser Safety Goggles Question

    It's not the point of a forum to have everyone write to you individually. I guess >95% of all lasers in use around here are these: LPC-815, ~250mW, 660nm PHR-803T, ~100mW, 405nm GGW-H20L, ~250mW, 405nm BDR-203, ~400mW, 405nm various green pens & modules, 5...150mW, 532nm Beam diameter, ~1..3mm...

    Laser warning labels

Considering the general legality of 250mW laser pointers without any protection features, a legal label will be pretty low on everybody's priority list.

    Laser ENHANCEMENT Glasses ?? ..... LOL !

Probably they would work for blocking non-red, but still they're not a replacement for "real" green/BR protection glasses. Because the point is not just in blocking light (a piece of black cardboard would do that), but also in transmitting as much as feasible of the non-laser-wavelength light...

    FREE 3-d glasses

They're not really free, you give them your name, address & email in exchange, worth around $10 to any marketing company. I've also found this: "These glasses are magenta/green, which means they probably won't be useful for much else." (except watching the "My bloody valentine" movie).

    question about modifying psu

PS ON (green) should be connected to GND (black). In any case, if you connect -12V to it, you can still use the -12V for something else.

    Laser ENHANCEMENT Glasses ?? ..... LOL !

My, are we picky today. Would YOUR postings hold up to that level of scrutiny? EDIT: They're red. According to the description, they enhance the visibility of the beam. So it appears they really are "enhancement" goggles, they transmit red and block (attenuate) everything else. So they would...

    DDL driver kills 635nm diodes?

Are you sure you've got the correct pinout for the 435nms?

    Question about focusable lasers?

As a rule-of-thumb, with a 1mrad divergence, you'll get a dot size of x mm at x m distance - of course this is only the case for distances >> 10 m or so, since at lower distances, the initial beam diameter and focusing will play a major role. (Determining the dot diameter is also not trivial, as...

    Investment Opportunity Advice Needed

Without knowing anything specific about the system in question, I'd say that while it may be possible to make a small profit, you'll have to be prepared to invest a lot of your time. Any hardware more than 10 years old is completely out of date and will probably be of interest and use only for...

    last time visited display

For me it's 17.7.09. I assume this gets reset only if you explicitely log out and on again. EDIT: Yes, logged out & on again, got the correct "last visited" date/time. If you've clicked "remember me", your logon status won't expire apparently. See, how easy it is to blame someone completely...

    Flatscreen PC monitor: illumination died

This afternoon my PC monitor broke: I can see the image very faintly under certain angles, it's obvious that the backlighting is not working any more. I've taken it apart, but didn't get very far: I got it separated into the plastic housing, a PCB with lots of components and a big frame with the...

    405nm Lens from Lasers4U

Thanks for the review, worth a rep (not that you need it)! This dealer never responded to my ebay messages (required to get a shipping quote as per his instructions); this review eases any fears that I might be missing out on something great.

    DDL driver kills 635nm diodes?

If the first driver worked, why do you think it was faulty? Your link is to a DiY tutorial, no mention of 635nm diodes.

Connecting a ground wire to an aluminum case

Press it against the wall via a screw, or squeeze it in between heatsink and wall, or something like that.
