    High power needed - why?

It's the equivalent of someone wanting a faster or fancier car/motorcycle.

Most expensive laser you have ever bought?

That honor goes to my CNI 80mw (rated but does 105 regularly and up to 120 after warmup) 589. Four of my most expensive are shown in this pic. 2013-07-11_12-26-27am by ltkernelpanic, on Flickr L-R: 543.5 HeNe, 594.1 HeNe, jet lasers 100mw 473, multiline argon main beam dominated by the...

    4K Blu-ray playback on Mac?

You need an external BR drive and a third party software to play it back. I've never bothered since I've always used my PS3 as my BR player.

They're great lasers. Very glad I got mine when I did. Enjoy.

My new toy: Yellow HeNe 594nm

Awesome pics. While expensive the yellow wavelengths are so unique they're worth the cost. Love those prisms too. Going to have to get some like that sometime.

    Lasers on Aliexpress.com

Not everything there is fake. I know Gray from Jet Lasers has posted stuff there before and I think a few other reputable sellers has as well but as always with sites like that caveat emptor.

    Aliexpress seller tells truth! 445nm @ 10mW

Nice find. I want to get a low powered 445. I'd like something in the 50mw range though. Still tempting to snag one since that's half the price of anything I've seen on fleabay.

New to gas lasers and need help.

The ideal CFM for my JDSU 2212-10MLMA cylindrical head was listed at 185cfm. I ended up getting a blower that moves a bit more at 190cfm. It's not a squirrel cage type but it moves plenty of air and keeps the tube hosing nice and cool even when I crank it up.

    Remember to exercise those argons!

Hauled both tubes and PSUs out of storage tonight and was surprised that my usual hard starting head fired on the second pulse after only a 2-3 minute warm up. Can't wait to finally get my work room redone so I can keep them setup and not have to keep moving them when not in use.

    Wicked Lasers Final 40

40% off is almost enough to make me order an Arctic. Almost. I'd rather pay more an give my money to Gray and the folks at JL then to those douche bags.

My Rainbow -- Post Pic's of Yours

Some excellent rainbow pics gentlemen! +1 to both! I've been planning a rainbow pic for awhile but I need to finish one build that's been sitting on my desk for almost a year and maybe one more build before I can attempt the shot.

In need of a decent soldering Iron

Stay away from anything from rat shack or harbor freight. They're almost always total shit. I bought this Weller station back in 2010 and it's been rock solid. Weller WES51 Analog Soldering Station - Soldering Irons - Amazon.com There's also a digital version too...

    Just got a JDSU 1145p

Nice. I got a steal of a deal on one of these back in July. Seeing the inside of your PSU makes me glad I just bought a brick style supply for mine. Also reminds me I need to get an inline fuse holder before I can solder up the permanent cord to to it. As Sig said unless you're into holography...

Damn. For such a simple setup the results are absolutely stunning!

    lasers or something else?

I don't think that's a laser. it's whatever that green light is that I assume the pilot uses to line up for refueling (there's a red one on the other wing tip). Also kind of hard to hit the top of the wing from the ground.

Grabbed this laser just for a bit of fun!

If the UK post is anything like the USPS it can take awhile to clear. It took the USPS a week to get my CNI 589nm through customs at JFK. To say I was sweating bullets is an understatement.
