    Cool Knife.

It's without a doubt my favorite folder! (thanks to you and your tip, I should add :thanks:) I got it for $375, but I picked it up in person, so no shipping fees, etc. :) I also picked up a Troodon (bead-blasted Wharncliffe) but tbh, I haven't really even looked at it much as most of my...

12x Murder Experiment - Take 2 (With 12x Comparison Plots)

Welcome back... :) Great finish to an epic project, thanks! Looking at FrancoRob's 12X table, it would seem that roughly 50% of the participants managed 600mW+ so your assumption appears to hold true. This also means that at least 50% are efficient diodes, no? In any event, the 12X still holds...

    445nm Diode Macros

Great macros! What did you use to take them with? My weapon of choice is my Canon 50D + EF-S 60 Macro :D

    Photography thread!

Just got back from Miami where I enjoyed watching a few kite surfers doin' it up! I took my first few lessons last year here in Austria and I hope to be able to ride like these bad boys some day...

    A Plea for EYE Safety!!

Thanks for the info Steve! I do note "afterimages" when using either my 130mW 532 or my 650mW 554nm lasers, but said afterimages last for about 30s and are only really noticeable if I close my eyes. A "direct hit" from my Canon 580EX (which sports a GN of 42) is worse, though, so I think as long...

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons! JayGuin 445nm "Razor Lazor" Review

Hey Pierce, a "belated" thanks for the detailed info (I was on vacation w/limited access to the Net). 3.02W of heat... Sounds like we'll need an "active" cooling solution if we ever want to go continuous with these diodes... ! As for focusing, I recently got Jay's Aixiz 405 lens *and*...

    What's in your camera bag?

Wow, sounds like you've been in places & conditions I've only witnessed on the news... So what did it take for a veteran like yourself to walk away from emulsion and embrace the 1s & 0s? I'll never forget the incredibly stirring images brought to the public by LIFE and the...

    JayGuin 445nm "Razor Lazor" Review

Cool! I didn't know it came in black too?!? I didn't see it at DX, where did you buy it? Btw, do you make your own builds / heatsinks...? Coming from a PC-building background, I like the idea of a Cu core closely coupled with Al fins. The reason is that Cu absorbs heat more efficiently but Al...

    What's in your camera bag?

Sure, why not! Worst case, it doesn't go to far, but I've already seen quite a few amateur photgraphers lurking around LPF so... p.s. sorry for the late reply - I was working on lasers, for a change

Have a look at what rkcstr posted on my What's in your Camera Bag thread... Done & dusted ;) Well... not around here.... ;) Hmm... looks like I'm spamming my own thread ?!?, lol. So let's take the city-photography topic over the the Camera thread, thx

    JayGuin 445nm "Razor Lazor" Review

Thx for the link! I posted my suggestion to Davidgdg on taking a few photos... :D Oh and btw, that's pretty amazing what you managed to pull off with just a cell-phone...

    445 versus 473 visual comparison

Hey, glad to hear you got your 473 back  Thanks for the comparison! "Apparent" brightness and color is probably more useful than a photo, given how hard it is to photograph "color" accurately. However, I would still appreciate it if you could give it a try? Not the "dots", mind...

    JayGuin 445nm "Razor Lazor" Review

Thx again, everyone - I'm really glad you like it - and yes, it did take some effort to get it all done, but I thought it worth it, not only for the community's sake, but as the 445nm is still relatively new and there can never be too much info on new goodies ;) This is a very good question...

    JayGuin 445nm "Razor Lazor" Review

Well, I kind of did mention it, in the very first paragraph of the review... Once you go with an SLR, it's just a matter of one component at a time. My EF-S 60 Macro was approx. €350. Since this lens doubles as nice portrait lens (60mm*1.5=90mm), it's a bargain at that price. Another member...
