7mm long DIY 532nm laser TINY!

very cool  +1 I have a few el cheapo 5cm key-chain reds (prob. <1mW), would love to have a green one :D Power source would be an issue, perhaps, so the next step up might be this puppy... A red & green... hey, it's almost that time of the year... :san: EDIT: Nevermind, it's got to...

Awesome rig  Agreed, most games (or other 3D applications...) won't need more GPU power than that for now (and probably well into 2011). 140mm fans??? Wow, I thought my 120s were big. But here size makes a big difference, a difference in noise (and believe it or not, bigger = better...

Well then, prices should start to drop pretty soon, now that the 580GTX is the new BADTORO.... GeForce GTX 580 EVGA | Articles | EVGA GTX 580

Nice rig  I'm still using my now outdated 9800 GTX but to tell you the truth, I'm in no hurry to upgrade to today's technology. I'm currently playing Splinter Cell Conviction, played Bioshock2, Batman Aracam Asylum, COD MW2, AvP and all run fine. Of course I am playing at 1680x1050, 0AA...

Anything but iPhone (thoughts on Desire, Galaxy S)

Sorry, I should have noted that said price was in conjunction with my T-Mobile contract extension. I paid €20 ($28) for my HTC Kaiser three years ago under the same circumstances, making the Galaxy S a very expensive "contract" deal... .

Anything but iPhone (thoughts on Desire, Galaxy S)

Great site, great phone (I had the T-Mobile MDA Vario III version). I have to thank XDA for Kaiser Tweak  I paid about €230 ($320) for my Galaxy S so I don't have the guts to "root" it... . A shame, seeing as I'm stuck with Eclair (although I don't have a real understanding of all the...

Anything but iPhone (thoughts on Desire, Galaxy S)

FWIW, I'm still quite happy with my Galaxy S. Battery-charge life is maybe the only weak spot; that and the fact that the Galaxy S has no visual indicator for missed calls / messages / Network connection Type. At first I didn't think I would care but it's actually a pain since I have to grab the...

    Review of a Spectra-Physics 161B-060 Air-Cooled Argon Ion Laser

Ok... I'm always ready to learn something new, so please enlighten* me :) *I would love to know which application today specifically requires a 19mW argon laser, thx!

    Review of a Spectra-Physics 161B-060 Air-Cooled Argon Ion Laser

A very entertaining and informative review  Let's see... $7.5K for 19mW... reminds me of the $3.5K Motorola "brick" my company bought us for on-call duty back in '90...

Yeah, non-protected Ultrafires. A shame that, because I've had little problems with their other sizes. As you said, LiB, a bad batch. a biiig bad batch... argh. Btw, The build tolerances of these minichromes are pretty much perfect which leads me to think that a protected 10440 may have a hard...

    International shipping hassles

My packages (U.S. / CN -> AT) average two days in Customs. It takes about five business days for "airmail", tack on customs and/or a weekend and you're looking at an average of 8-10 days, which is more than acceptable imho :yh: So once again, please note that although there are some really good...

    International shipping hassles

Sigh, here we go again... I was going to multiquote, but I gave up after I selected like half a dozen of them... 1. I live in Vienna, Austria and I have had about 50 parcels shipped from the States in the past and every single one arrived without incident. 2. Except for one package which...

Hey there, I'm replying to this thread per your recent PM... Maybe YOU should supply us with the damn link... LIB forgot what laser you were talking about (re: 90% of his lasers run on 14500s). No, this puppy will only take 10440s. SPEAKING OF WHICH... The UltraFire 10440s suck. I...
