    Holy @#$%... $100 488nm diode!!

Re: Holy @#$%... $120 488nm diode!! 488 diode would definitely be worthy of a new build, Dave! Its been a few years on my end

Just picked up a little whitelight

Well I have the laser at home. It seems to be in one piece. Dave, do you have any pinout info for this laser? I believe it's a model 300WC, rated for 300mW of nice white light  I need to find out what needs to be connected to the interface port to get it to fire up. Also, I need to...

What to split the beam of a ML Argon with?

    Argon Laser for SALE.....SOLD!

Re: Argon Laser for SALE. Hey timelab, I have a quick question for you. What pins need to be connected on the little control interface to get the laser to start? I see on your laser you have a connector plugged in there, so I was just curious if you knew. I have a whitelight version of...

What to split the beam of a ML Argon with?

I would love to get myself a nice diffraction optic like that. I use cd's for low power stuff. I think in this picture we actually used an open hard disk drive, or something similar. It was able to take all the power without melting... Probably only a couple watts in this picture. Laser is my...

Can lasers become banned because of these people?

In my humble opinion, goggles are only necessary when dealing with laser POINTERS or the moving output of laser scanners at high power. Your average large lab laser is NOT going to be pointing around everywhere, and will generally be pointed at a chunk of charcoal or something non-reflective...

Just picked up a little whitelight

haha well hopefully it all works out. Did you get any info from the seller at all? Supposedly the tube was re-gassed 100 hours ago, so hopefully it's not up-to-air. If it is, I'll do my best to get a refund. Go check out my post over on PL and give me any info you can... I dont know anything...

Just picked up a little whitelight

Hey guys, Thought I would post this one up. I stumbled upon this on ebay and really didn't think I was going to win. Turns out I did win (for my maximum bid exactly...). Here's a link!! I'll get some pictures up once I get it running (hopefully) Full Color White Light Laser 350mw, Power...

So whats the latest driver options?

I really missed out on that portland LEM :cryyy::cryyy::cryyy: Jonathan texted me about a week and a half before the event, and I just couldn't get everything squared away to make it there. I would have loved to catch up with you and everyone else again. Hopefully we can do another one soon :D

    B&W Tek BWB-10-OEM - 473nm 10mW

I have a protera. Nice little laser. But, in the never-ending search for beam quality and stabilization, I mis-aligned it, and haven't had the motivation to re-align it even though it would probably only take about a half hour of tinkering.

    B&W Tek BWB-10-OEM - 473nm 10mW

I just bought one of these little guys this morning. It's the first laser I've purchased in a loooooong time, but for $75 I just couldn't pass it up. I just wanted a nice stable 473nm laser. I'm not power hungry, I have a 10W argon for that, I'm just a bit of a wavelength whore :P Next on my...

Trying to resurrect a CNI 589nm pointer.

I would just rig up a simple LM317 driver to drive the pump with and see what happens. Like you and others mentioned, the output pattern of the diode looks good. Give her some more juice and see what happens! If everything starts working, then you can worry about getting the CNI driver to...

So whats the latest driver options?

So has anyone had any success running one of these didoes from a 14500? Is the battery life still decent? I remember running a 405nm at fairly high currents from a 14500 and the battery life still seemed to be 'forever', but we're probably at a current setting of double that, so I was just...

So whats the latest driver options?

Hey Jayrob, Glad to see you're still around! Now where's Dave Guin hiding?! haha... The parallel flexdrive is a pretty neat idea. How much current can I pump through a single flexdrive safely?

So whats the latest driver options?

Hey guys, Been a looooooooooong time since i've posted last. Life has been busy on my end!!!! Anyway I have a blue diode here from one of those casio projectors that I've had for a while, and I want to build it into something. What driver are people using to drive these diodes at >1A...

Any target shooters / Firearms collectors?

The barrett is an awesome rifle, but $8000 is a bit rich for me. I'm looking into buying a .50BMG upper for my ar-15 for around $2000, coupled with a steel lower (about $500-$600). It's bolt action, so you have to load each round, but it's very cool and less than $3k. But that's probably a year...
