    Thoughts on these goggles

405-560. The cutoff is sharp on any charts I have seen on other sites, so I wouldn't trust a 400 cutoff for 405, and I want below 560 as well.

    Thoughts on these goggles

Eagle does not cover the wavelength range I need. As for the ones I asked about, it says unavailable anyway, and after looking at the site, I saw the 50000mw lasers and very poor English, lol, so yeah, I wouldn't trust them much. I do have decent argon glasses, but I don't think they extend...

    Thoughts on these goggles

I had looked, but they don't have anything covering the range I need unfortunately. Either they stop at 540 or stop before 405

    Thoughts on these goggles

As I will soon try to get my dye laser working, I started thinking I don't have goggles for the 500-560 nm range. But I will be using a 405nm to pump it. I haven't found many choices at all that cover both of these. Any thoughts on this pair...

    DYE help

After delays, the dye and ethylene glycol are finally shipping. Then play time begins😎

    Help! Affordable pulsed laser

For a pulsed laser, the rating isn't determined just by average power, but also by peak power of the pulse. Not sure what the exact formula is, but I have a feeling that a 500x power pulse would not stay in the same classification. Also, 1ms seems rather long for a pulsed laser if you were...

Major surficial uranium find in Penticton B.C. while on holidays.

I wouldn't waste your time with XRF. XRD or EDS is what you want if trying to identify exactly what it is. XRF is not quantitative, so you will only know what but you won't know the percentages of each. Also it doesn't detect lighter elements. There was someone who was very food with XRD, but...

Nitrogen Lasers: for those who like to build from scratch

TRUTH! Similar example is my SSY-1 Nd YAG laser, although I upped the capacitors on it, so probably more energy than the typical specs. Look at the peak power, 50 KW!: " The output power is typically around 150-200mJ per pulse (50KW for 4nS) at 1064nm, with a 15J input to the flashlamp. The...

green dpss laser class IIIb - can anybody shed some light on it?

To his credit, I didn't know you could mouse over the profile and see the location of a user. I would just say enthusiastic about information of new users.

Suitable star caps for a 2W laser

The caps are actually holograms, so not very easy to make. Unless you mean just to physically block an expanded beam. Then a 3D printer would be your friend, although plastic would probably melt quickly at 2 watts

    Ultraviolet Lasers?

I would love a sub 254 nm laser to look for SW fluorescent minerals at a greater distance than stooping over with a measly 4 watt filtered mercury tube.

    Hello from Colorado

Then to round out my collection, minus the dye which is posted under dye help, and the missing HeNe's, here are all my others. Newest to oldest, left to right, 2 watt I think, 405nm, 200 mw 405 nm, 5 mw 405 nm, 5 mw 532 nm, and 5 mw red of unknown wavelength as the sticker says 400 nm - 800 nm.

    Hello from Colorado

Ok, I dug a few more out. 2 SSY-1 YAG heads, 4 capacitors, which gives a lot of power, but eventually the flashlamp explodes ;). Also, a .5 mw Melles Griot 05-LHR-640 tube. I have 1 or 2 more HeNe's, I don't remember how many, but not sure where they are at the moment. The cat food can lid I...

    Hello everyone! First post

Welcome Gabriel! I have a friend from Colorado who has been working in the mines down there as an engineer.

    Hello from Colorado

Here are some photos of my 60X I have both TEM00 and multi line multi mode optics for it. I got it maybe 20-25 years ago and it mostly sits neglected, but it will still put out 8 lines :) Not sure of the power. On these, should there be a visible beam coming out the back as well? It isn't nearly...

    Ultraviolet Lasers?

I had recently wondered about using a nonlinear crystal as a frequency doubler with a 532, which would give 266, or with a 445 or 405, giving 222.5 or 202.5. I don't know much about them though, to know if it would work or not. But if it would, that might be much cheaper

    Hello from Colorado

Thanks! Many are hiding, buried in my storage building, but I have a few I could take photos of that are fairly easy to get at.

    DYE help

Well, since I am only trying to get it working, to sell it easier, that is out of my price range as I would be paying more than I could sell my laser for.
