Dragon sent me a new 589

Thanks for your tips. I cooled it very slowly, no moisture. I'd feel terrible messing up this good one. You're right, they heat up quick. I keep it to about 30 sec.

Dragon sent me a new 589

Shipping was as expected, took a while. Things bogged down at their port, but once released, as Adam said, it was here in days. Much happier with this unit. Old one was around 35mw no matter what. Almost hit 50 once, but never over, day or night Hot here today. Sailed way past 80mw. Warmed up...

WTB - "Extended Length" Lens Holder

Sorry I was thinking of the extended focus adapter rings. I haven't seen the brass piece. Possibly he has some. I was happy to stop burning my fingers. :)

Wicked lasers sending something I didn't order

Thanks Laserchic. I actually ordered nothing. Checked to see if they had a beam expander for my 2watt Artic. Said they were out. I said, thank you and goodbye. I love American Express. Worth the yearly charge. Like having a Golum standing over me, protecting me. I sure as hell won't pay shipping...

Wicked lasers sending something I didn't order

Got an email from evil Wickedlasers. Apparently something is incoming. I had ordered their torch and batteries a few months ago. Prompt shipping, what I expected. ( probably shipped from US.) But this is a new one and smells fishy as I ordered nothing. Called AmEx. They immediately blocked any...

The Guardian is more compact. About 3 1/4 inch. Pretty close to same power too. One of my new favorites.

I'll try for some beam shots tomorrow night. Nice beam for a 405. Visable without smoke or fog outside. Size of a Lipstick tube. Thanks Dad

GITD Dorcy Jr 1W 405nm build

Very nice job. Fun having a little pocket burner. :) Having a crappy soldering iron sucks. Just got a new one. Weller brand $25. Has 3 little LEDs to light up the work.

Thanks everyone. Haven't felt this dumb all week. :) Photobucket looks like the hot ticket. I see it works great for a lot of you. I'll experiment with it tonight and learn to use it. I took my motorcycle up to the huge fire in Middleton Ca. Sunday. For some reason they let me in. Got some good...

I'd like to learn to take better beam shots

Thanks, lower shutter speed is what I was thinking of. Smoke machine I got on Amazon for'$30. Second purchase after my LPM. Kid next door loves it.

    something different for me

Always the best photos. I smile every time I see you have posted new photos. I got a couple diffraction gratings from Dragon. I turned on the smoke machine and was shocked at how I could see all the tiny beams from the fan grating. Then I slowly turned it. Wow.

I'd like to learn to take better beam shots

Hi gang. I know virtually nothing about cameras. I see beautiful photos by many of you. Strong clear photos of 405nm, for example. Time lapse? I'd like to buy something better then my iPhone 6. My beam photos are embarrassing. :) Complex subject. People spend lifetimes learning this stuff, I...

    SciFi lasers

Re: Scifi lasers- how I dropped 140 USD for 4 minutes Their must be a simple way to prevent putting batteries in backwards from killing the laser. I personally mark the tail caps with either a plus or minus. Sorry to hear after waiting a month, your laser died the first day.
