    Help with broken HHD

The data on the HDD went poof as soon as you opened it, sorry. The reason professional data recovery companies charge thousands of dollars on a HDD recovery is because they use they use clean rooms where no dust or debris can settle onto the platters, as they are very sensitive to particles...

Replacing rubber clickie end cap with copper.

The tailcap switch and rubber boot can be accessed by inserting a pair of tweezers into the two holes of the tailcap. Grip the brass/aluminium ring and turn counter-clockwise to open it up. Copper will tarnish very quickly if moisture and oils get on it by clicking on it. I'd suggest polished...

My first high-power laser build, need a little help.

If you're tight on budget, get the Uvex Orange series. They do an amazing job for $8.

need help, s3 arctic not working.

You pretty much lost any chances of getting your money back when you used two batteries instead of one. The laser was "significantly not as advertised" because it was missing the box, manual, etc. and was clearly opened. Now, you have a dead laser that is extremely difficult to repair.

    LPM Request (Free diode!)

Welcome to LPF! It depends on what current you want to drive the diode. If you drive it at a low current, you will have a low powered output and thus have an eye-safe (5mW) laser. If you have a power supply, you can adjust the current to your liking and get a driver to output that...

    Lasers and Sodium Metals.

Lithium, magnesium, calcium and other period 1/2 elements burn very brightly. Maybe a high powered laser can heat them up so they undergo rapid oxidation?

    FS: Custom-made flashlight

Indeed it's an XM-L2 emitter, noticeable by its silver substrate compared to XM-L's green. I have a hunch it's driven at 2.8A constant current.

Hello, Will I able to do This ?

If you really do want to use the eBay driver, make sure to add a filtering cap at the output side. I have a similar buck driver and it greatly helps with suppressing the noise.

Great deal! Make sure you check the voltages on the cells before you start charging or using them.

    The First World Problems Thread

I just tried it, but it doesn't seem to like my setup. I have selected auto 1080P but YouTube clips doesn't seem to be defaulting to 1080P, just stuck on 480P.

    The First World Problems Thread

Thanks, I've had that configured for years but YouTube hasn't defaulted to 1080P when I'm not fullscreen. I'm currently using a Chrome plugin to do it, but it does cause a minor stutter in the first 5 seconds or so.
