I'm just using a Mohrenberg driver at 428mA. It's not pushing too hard, but I get great battery life even with cheap 16340's. It will still start to melt a hole in an alarm clock from about 8 feet away if you're not careful... Oops. And yes, it's a 12x S06J diode.

My 405 C6 got so many gawkers, I might have to make a 445 and really blow everyone away. Seriously, you make lasers so easy with these kits.

I'm using a S06J with a Mohrenberg driver set at 428mA. Should be putting out 550-600mW based on the numbers I've seen on this diode. I'm definitely going to be looking for another Lenser host next time I'm building. They just look so good!
