Laser for Wildfire, Forestry, and Arboriculture applications?

green is going to be a pain in the forest :( You might also look at an LEP flashlight and see if that might work for you.

    Need help

Your eye is more sensitive to certain colors, which make them more visible at a longer distance from same power. Green is near the peak of our sensitivity. Red is toward the end of least sensitive. Also, visibility of the dot is different from visibility of the beam.

Why are all the good posts so old?

I miss the group buys, but otherwise, consider that there are not many new diodes that are unique. We also have people who are better at helping us with identifying and sorting new versions of diodes, like DTR. This didn't happen back in the day. Instead there was a kill fund to help identify...

    Starting a new project on a Spectra-Physics 163-CO207 / 263-CO6 - pretty pics and learnings so far

That makes more sense now :) I wondered what he meant, but that is not at all what I was thinking he meant. I was thinking he was talking about the "light" mode of air cooled argons: "Light/Current switch - selects either current or light mode. Light mode regulates the laser output power...

    Starting a new project on a Spectra-Physics 163-CO207 / 263-CO6 - pretty pics and learnings so far

I'm always interested. Nice tube and great work at getting it running on your own without much help. I love that it has 8 lines, so it should be a fairly healthy tube with good life left in it. Great project to work on, keep it up and let us know how it goes!

    Helium Neon Laser Pointer

I saw that new version of the universal one last night, very nice lab supply. I've got over 50 tubes but most are 10-14". So no real need for me. I do need to reply today about the A-14-00 and see what a single qty will run 😩😲😵

    Helium Neon Laser Pointer

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to look at those vortex ones, if they are still around. I have plans to incorporate the new 6" tube into a handheld or maybe even a cane. I would like slots on the sides and maybe a removable crackled 1" uranium marble on the end for effect :). Fun. I've always...

    Helium Neon Laser Pointer

what HeNe Driver is this? I have a very small rectangular one, similar to below, but I think it is 12v input: https://www.ebay.com/itm/303521863595?hash=item46ab5017ab:g:pZMAAOSw7VJcn9gN Is there a better option?

LPF History 107 – Final Exam

Nice to see people who have been on here longer than me and still check in. I'm only 59 and left eye is already very cloudy also my doctor told me if I got COVID-19 I wouldn't survive (thanks doc). I guess its due to the COPD and asthma issues I already have. BUT, You can do what I do when...

    Medical Laser Enthusiast

For general laser information try here also: https://www.repairfaq.org/sam/lasersam.htm Some members on here have used laser equipment AFTER the removal from medical service and then repurposed them for hobbyist endeavors, which can be very rewarding.

Struggling to put 3.8mm diode in to housing

agree regarding NEED to get a press. I don't know you, but somewhere in my head, I formed a picture of you BASHING poor defenseless diodes into housings with a hammer and my opinion of you dropped tremendously  Ingenuity is one thing, but please read a little more, it will definitely...

    NUBM44 Small Modular Build

I just like smaller builds personally, but I always have an issue with heatsinking.

Building a orange (613nm) Laser from scratch with off-the-shelf parts (and for cheap!)

Not that it will help much, but on the gas side, I've set up one of my 594s with my 612 and one of my 633 HeNe lasers, side by side. The 612 look like a tangerine orange. I've also seen a tube with a secondary line of 604 and it didn't strike me as significantly different from the 612...

    Remember to exercise those argons!

I've seen the top one for sale before with the DB-25 interface, just not one with the round umbilical interface like the bottom one.

Who do I contact to purchase tickets to upcoming Delaware Lem in August 2021?

I Believe it was three years ago, I got the door prize of a set of 506s scanners which I paid to upgrade to Saturns. Two years ago I won another awesome door prize which I proceeded to use amount from it to purchase Beyond software. I could never have afforded either of those without the door...
