You should mention the horrible bar shaped dot of the 1 Watt 638nm diode. It is far worse than the 445nm blue dot. Also I don't consider this as a review but more as a show case of your laser. :rolleyes:

The fake 18650 are usually the Ultrafires. Get a brand one like Panasonic, Sanyo etc. They cost more but they also perform better.

That is a tiny module. Only 5.5mm wide at the black heatsink. No wonder it get hot it is using without a second heatsink. Thanks for the review. 513nm is surely different than the 520nm lasers.

Define cheap. The 593nm pens cost couple of hundreds of dollars.

You like placing the laser on unstable spots, like on the top of the door and on a round tube. :)

I calculate 0.8 V drop for each diode. Did you add the voltage drop of the 1Ohm resistor ? By example for 300mA that is 0.3V drop. Btw I use a different testload for the high current diodes like the 5.6mm M140 and the 9mm 445nm diode. It handles the heat better and less voltage drop at the R100...

Chris190577 has a blue 445nm Steel laser for sale. Look for the thread if your are interest. The laser isn't very old and I will honor the warranty.

I am glad you like it. :) Hopefully the host will come back for building more lasers but they said it was discontinued.

Re: !!! LPF Donation Raffle !!! It is better to donate directly to LPF than to DJNY. This way you only pay the Paypal fee once and not twice. After confirmation that the donation is given then DJNY ships the lasers.
