yes 445nm's have really bad divergence, especially with a high-powered lens like a G-1/G-2. Greens are the way to go for pointing. Glad i can help.

I use this calculator from rhd to determine brightness of differing wavelengths: Beam: (532nm 100mw) vs. (445nm 300mw) So, a 532nm 100mW is approximately 4.78x brighter than a 445nm 300mW. EDIT: holy crap 666th post.

The green will definitely be brighter, by a lot. Assuming 1mrad divergence, the 100mW greenie will reach up to 14km and still cause a distraction hazard. I'd say the effective range will be around 5km.
