    Argon Bulb

The original use, same as for the "neon" orange ones, was as "night-light" illumination points ..... Ar ones was purple, instead orange like the Ne ones ..... Lots of time that i don't see them ..... i have in my collection some of the Ne ones, but no AR ..... they are impossible to find, here.

    What'd you get for Christmas?

I got a letter from our national thieves agency (taxes :p), that say, literally "from an automated control of your 2010 tax declaration, it result that you omitted to pay us 0.00 Euro, and that you forgot to pay 0.00 Euro, so here is another 13.67 Euro ticket to pay us" ..... etc :p Seriously...

    Kinect Safety...?

Sensitivity to colors is a very individual thing ..... some peoples cannot see 780nm clearly, someone can see it as dim red, some others can see also more (i can see 808nm as dim red, also from low power diodes, but cannot see 980nm camera illuminators, and 780nm for me is normal dark red) ...

Do you carry your laser as self defense at night?

Ehm ..... there's not too much differences, at the end, if you get hit in the head from a missile, or from a 9mm bullet ..... (ok, ok, the size of the needed coffin, maybe, but at that point, i think you don't care about that, right ? :p :D )

    445nm 3Watt laser

..... and at the end of the video, for check the distance, instead point it on something safe, he's just pointing it on a street where there are incoming cars ..... very intelligent thing to do :p :spank:

    BIG capacitor bank

LOL :p ..... ok, i send one to you ..... do you have a room big enough for store it ? (ehm, and the 10 million Euro it cost, ofcourse ..... :D) BTW, multiquotes works, for me ;) ..... but as alternative, you can use an old trick, if on your PC it does not work ..... just click the quote button...

    BIG capacitor bank

Rheinmetall Defence - The world's largest capacitor bank: Designed and installed by Rheinmetall Waffe Munition 50 MJ storage capacitor :D Now, about making a coilgun with it, it's a little bit tricky, i suppose ..... :p :D ..... but can worth to see the result :eg: :eg: :eg:

    Focusing Cap?

If you only need to do burning trials, just add a positive lens in front of your laser pointer, for focus it at a tiny spot ..... it's the easiest way ;)

Triple Prism Mount W/color tinted walls

^ Right. At least, the one posted from lazeerer ..... all the assemblies i've seen similars, was in 3CCD professional videocameras ..... never seen one identical to the one posted from irritatediance, anyway, it look older than the actual ones .....

    Can someone make this?

ROTFL ! Those types of "belt assemblies" are made in that way EXACTLY cause they don't need precise alignments, so why someone may need a laser aligner for them ? Anyway, looking at how they are made, i suppose anyone with access to a mill can made them, if they want ;)

    DIY Laser Cutter Project

Re: My holiday project - DIY Laser Cutter If you cannot modify too much the original design, but can get some "L" shaped and "U" shaped alu bars, there is a possible alternative solution ..... not the better one in absolute, but it can work. Going to eat now, when i come back, i try to draw...

    DIY Laser Cutter Project

Re: My holiday project - DIY Laser Cutter This can be solved in a pair of different ways, for "long" carriages ..... using 2 (or 3, at angle) 20mm bars, or adding a sort of "rail" and rollers for support the weight of the focusing holder. Both the systems have advantages and disadvantages, and...

    FAIL THREAD!!!!

Pointer ..... well, ok, i understand you can use it for "point" something, somewhere ..... (also if i suggest you to not keep it in your pocket going outside, like as a normal laser pointer, LOL) :p :D

    FAIL THREAD!!!!

 Do you mean for the face covered from the camera, for the fact that in that position the camera objective looks like an opened mouth ('nuff said, for the perverted ones :p), or for the big pink dildo on the right low corner ? :p  :eg: :eg: :eg: :eg: :eg:

check this out from national semicon...

The 100Kohm resistor suggested from the datasheet is simply for keep it in "high" state, when you plan to use the dim pin as PWM driver pin ..... also, just the fact that they suggest you to use 100K resistor, let you know that the input IS a high impedence input (if not, 100K was not enough for...

    Win thread

Then now we know who is rear WL, maybe ? ..... :p :eg:

check this out from national semicon...

Uhm, i think not ..... the dim pin is simply a high impedance logic input, like a cmos port input ..... also if connected directly to Vin, it cannot draw more than 1microampere, and this cannot cause any overheating ..... Is more easy an open-output or overvoltage failure, cause the LM3410...

    Win thread

    ^ more than "confused", it's like "man, wtf ?" ..... :p :D

check this out from national semicon...

Uhm, maybe too long tracks from the pins 1 and 5 and the coil ? ..... it must be kept as shorter as possible, and of a discrete size (no thin tracks) (EDIT: pins 1 and 5, assuming you are using the SOT23 package like mine) Also, you don't have connected for error the dim pin to the output...

    Sound card DAC tutorial

Yes, but there is a basical difference ..... a built-in protection written as part of the software, during the program creation, is more difficult to be defeated, especially from a compiled executable ..... a commercial dongle usually always use standard libraries and calls to external modules...
