What music does LPF listen to?

Wow. Never heard of them. Much to learn and keep up on. +Rep. Oh and Alan 'Watts' was not lost on me for a laser forum ... :D

    NUBM08E the new 9-10 watter

Tried to follow who's buying and what the diodes cost apiece. Got lost. But I'm in as I think they're affordable to us old fogies? How's the divergence? Who should I contact?

    "Happy Birthday" Pete

I'm right there with you. You can give others (including me, I'm older than you by a little bit) this quote ... I gave a card like this to my mom once. EDIT: Found this: And of course, Happy Birthday.

What music does LPF listen to?

DMT (N,N-Dimethyltryptamine), aka the Spirit Molecule, has claims that it does just that. Never tried it. There was a (USA) government sanctioned human study done by Dr. Rick Strassman. He wrote a book and there's a video about it. I paid a few bucks to watch it on Apple TV. Nice sound.

    Is it worth it?

You'll also get a wow factor from a decent powered 532nm (DPSS) due to the eye's ability to see it combined with it's great divergence - nice sharp bright pencil thin beam. Or choose a 520nm (direct diode) which you can get well over 1W which is also very very bright. You can compare...

"Customs Clearance" for five days? Should I be worried?

I routinely experience a week or so before it pops out. So it seems normal to me. EDIT: Oops, my experience is only for inbound but it may still apply if it's the same people.

The aliens are silent because they're dead [Article Share]

The Fermi Paradox (aka "Where is everybody") is about the absence of evidence for extraterrestrial intelligence. Copied from the linked Wikipedia site: 5 Hypothetical explanations for the paradox 5.1 Extraterrestrial life is rare or non-existent 5.2 No other intelligent species have arisen 5.3...

Thanks. Tried to rep you but gotta spread it around some first ... <virtual rep>

    Danny the newbee

Welcome! A lot of us buy quality laser goggles here. If I can borrow Styro's words, 'Stay Safe and Happy Lasing'. This is one of my favorites.

    Donating to LPF

I have automatic donations each month set up in PayPal. Sometimes I 'forget' and they get a little more ...

Sci-Fi Lasers TheJoker301 Does Not Tell the Truth to Customers or Uphold His Claims

Re: Resolved Don't get me wrong, I'm not making excuses for SciFi nor taking sides. Your suspicions may very well be correct but that notwithstanding, being able to see what USPS posts is far more helpful than what's on Israel Post. Indeed, all my 'bad' tracking numbers could've had been...

    Spartan 589- *problem solved*

I am building up a collection but don't use them much. Should I use them at some minimum 'rate'? Why would lack of use contribute to failure?

Sci-Fi Lasers TheJoker301 Does Not Tell the Truth to Customers or Uphold His Claims

re: Resolved For people in the USA here's a tip that helped me. The tracking number from Israel Post was notoriously bad using Israel Post's website. I put the same tracking number into USPS' website and got far better results. This may only work once it gets to the USA. I think it gets...

Sci-Fi Lasers TheJoker301 Does Not Tell the Truth to Customers or Uphold His Claims

re: Resolved Sorry to hear that. I had a similar experience but my laser, once it finally arrived, worked fine, still does and is top notch quality. However, it wasn't a pleasant experience. Eitan's replies were always courteous and professional; just not timely, accurate, or contained...

The Golden Company: LPF's Compendium of the Rare Yellows, from Chartreuse to Amber.

Re: The Golden Company: LPF's 589nm and 594nm compendium I'm the new proud owner of Styro's 589nm. From his link: Spartan 50mW 589nm SOLD I love this laser, but I have two 589nm units so one deserves to go to a home where it will get more use! On cold startup (3.8V from DC PSU) it hovers...

    Spartan 589- *problem solved*

That's a great explanation, thanks. +Rep. Is there a standard on sensor outputs so one can mix/match sensors with processors/displays, e.g. 1mV=1mW or is that primarily for thermopiles?

    Spartan 589- *problem solved*

I've been wondering why LPMs advertise for a specific way a laser is produced, e.g. DPSS vs direct diode vs Nd:YAG etc. Why does it matter to the LPM?
  19. OVNI

    Reliable source for 532nm modules?

The thing is, DPSS also produces IR also which might be part of the advertised power output. So I'd look to see if it's specifically advertised as 200mW of 532nm (for get what you pay for reasons) plus whether it has an IR filter (for safety reasons). And/or ask the seller but they may not...
