Awesome. Thanks for the tips! Good stuff. +1

    Gitd MS-SSW

So, this might be a hard question to answer, but how does one determine the ratio of GITD powder to epoxy? I just bought some powder with the intent of doing some of my handhelds, but I'm not sure how much powder to use. Any suggestions or guidelines?

Hi Tom, Sure, I'd be happy to LPM any modules you have. Sounds like an interesting product. In terms of 'what it would take', I'd be happy to do it for free, or in return for one of your finished products (once they're done). :) You can ship whatever samples you'd like to me at: Andy...

Few questions on 445nm diodes + lenses

I just posted a study comparing the various commonly available lenses (including the one that comes with the 9mm 445 diode, not sure if this is the 'Kasio' one you're referring to). See here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/g9-vs-g2-vs-3-element-vs-acrylic-study-85334.html Also, a...

Tri-dot 660nm red laser in C2 host, warning picture heavy !

Given that they're so cheap these days, why stop at just 3? :) (Need moar beams!) Great build. +1

Re: G9 vs. G2 vs. 3-Element vs. Acrylic - A study Hey, thanks Sinner. :) (Note if you look closely at my setup pic, you can find an MS-V1 hiding on my desk, which houses my 520. A great host!)

Re: G9 vs. G2 vs. 3-Element vs. Acrylic - A study See this thread for the lens mounting info: http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/new-9mm-445-diodes-73284.html The heatsink I used was a little small (I wish I had one of those big finned ones like DTR), but it was only a 2-minute run, and only...

Re: G9 vs. G2 vs. 3-Element vs. Acrylic - A study It's the stock lens that comes with the 9mm 445 diode. See here: https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/9mm-445nm

    UPDATED: G9 vs. G2 vs. 3-Element vs. Acrylic - A study

(25 Dec 2013 - Added new plots for ML101U29-25, S06J, PL450B, and ML501P73 diodes.) Hi all, (Note this is my first 'review' here, though I've been mostly a lurker for the past couple of years. Please be gentle.) ;) This weekend I was able to accomplish something I've wanted to do for a...

Osram 3.8mm 405nm diodes from tech hood

That's not the 1W 3.8mm 405 from this build, is it? http://laserpointerforums.com/f48/1w-polished-405nm-3-8mm-diode-lazeerer-81725.html Would be a heck of a deal for $30.

All gone: Offroad 3W+ GITD kryton build!

Re: FS: Offroad 3W+ GITD kryton build! Ahh, a toothpick. Awesome. I figured you had to do them one at a time, but if the epoxy dries in 1 minute, it's probably not that bad. I'd like to try this on a kryton that I stripped and hand-polished, as it's hard to polish/clean inside the grooves...

All gone: Offroad 3W+ GITD kryton build!

Re: FS: Offroad 3W+ GITD kryton build! Hey Offroad, Really nice work. Is there a special technique for getting the GITD epoxy into the grooves cleanly, without making a mess? I know Moh used to use acetone to wipe off the excess epoxy when he made his GITD focus rings, but I don't know if...

Ditto. I've been using it for 15 years, and am pretty well versed. I love MATLAB problems. Bring it on! -Andy

Solid Silver - 520nm Build [PIC HEAVY]

Though I understand people's occasional sensitivity about pricing, he really shouldn't be too upset about you disclosing it in this case, as at that price, he's likely to get a lot more orders for similar work.

Solid Silver - 520nm Build [PIC HEAVY]

$250! OMG, that's nothing for such an amazing piece of art. People here pay much more for a lot less laser. Thanks for giving the pricing.

Solid Silver - 520nm Build [PIC HEAVY]

Beautiful. :) What's it like on the inside? (Driver, pill, etc?) Can we see? Is the driver heatsinked directly to the host?

    Mohgasm Clearout sale

Put me down for: 10 x Black focus adapters ($20) 10 x Benboost ($40) 1 x 5.6mm Kryton ($23) 3 x 9mm Kryton ($69) If the focus adapters and/or benboosts aren't available in the above quantities, I'll take as many as you have, and just make up the difference by adding more 5.6mm Krytons to make...
