my batteries are charging and im building a spirograph so i'll try to get to it in the next 2 days... but i was in total shock when i saw it! at first i thought my eyes were just a little tired or something lol. but then i turned it off, looked at a few other things to get my vision to "normal"...

well, i was just fiddling with my 400mw 532nm o-like crown pointing it to the sky when suddenly the color changed from the usual bright green beam to a bright blue \ green beam! it was still bright, but the color was noticeably different and i would make a rough estimate of the wavelength...

by the way in case anyone thinks im in favor of that bill. i am NOT in favor of it. i very much disagree with it as there are many flaws in it. :beer:

well, aside from the bill that was in the midst of being processed. i think that having to register\have a permit for any laser >5mw might get these inconsiderate idiots out of the way, as well as make scientists and enthusiasts more aware so there arent any accidents. this would keep lasers...

i think the only reasonable time for not wearing goggles while operating a laser >5mw is if its being pointed toward the sky and distant trees and grass\dirt. and even then, be VERY cautious of aircrafts and still be VERY careful you dont shine it on ANY reflective surface or accidentally look...

create a laser to project a black hole in the form of a beam. :thinking:... :crackup:

truthfully it all depends on what you want it for and your style. if you want to burn then go with a focusable one. if you want a tight brighter beam go for a fixed beam. :) ... or you can get both :crackup: Focusable = great burning but not as good a beam Fixed = great beam but not as good a...

man! thats awesome! now i want one to put my laser on! :drool: i guess thats one more thing to add to my future bill! :rolleyes:... and maybe i'll put some LEDs to make it look like a UFO at night! :crackup:

yeah thats right... also i would like to add that the beam of a focusable laser wont burn as fast (at infinite focus) because the beam is thicker from the apurture... personally, i always prefer focusable lasers because you are more in control of how the laser is handeled IMO and you can focus...

well, i havent had many lasers and im still kinda new. but i just recieved and o-like 400 mw crown upgrade today and it seems great! it mode hops a little at first but it settles down to a good TEM00. it burns instantly and the beam is insane!... i took this beamshot and its a clear night...

Thumbs up on the review and nice laser! it looks like the WL Arctic or Krypton. is it legal in the U.S.? it looks to have all the safety features. :gj:

i ordered from o-like this past saturday and the item got shipped on wednesday (Singapore). i looked on the tracking site and it now says "Handover to airline". about how long does anyone think it will take for delivery from there?... BTW i ordered with DHL.

actually, i have a laptop w\ a cd\dvd burner drive. is it possible to get a diode from there for a red one? heres a pic... (in the attachment (the "insert image" wont work for me))
