Too cheap to be true, but anyone ever bought one?

Price is plenty legit. Did you look at diode prices? 405's are cheap.

I still see a lot for sale online for cheap. I have some at home, but I think I will go ahead and buy more. They are terrifically fun for what they are :D Ooh i just found square variants as well. Neat.

Your thoughts on the iPad Pro

I didn't realize this was just going to be a continuation of the Apple circlejerk... No matter what the fanboys say, Apple products are overpriced and underspec. But I guess if you slap a pretty[simple] enough UI on it, people will bow down.

    Register your drone

You all act like all this de-privatization of information is something new...it's been around for quite a while. There is nothing anyone has to hide, because the government already knows it all. Not much point in getting your pants in a twist trying to protect yourself now.

Why can't we raise $400 in donations?

Except the chinese have wised up, and now are joining as members to post terribly formatted sale threads that they constsntly bump, instead of paying for an ad slot....not just the chinese at this point either.

SOLD - 500mw Green Laser with Battery/Charger and Safety Goggles

Re: For Sale - 500mw Green Laser with Battery/Charger and Safety Goggles I'd send that to someone to get it properly metered. I highly doubt it is 500mW.

Bonehead resentenced--5 years for pointing laser @ plane

Thats the media for you. Even 100mW laser hitting a plane at altitude, factoring in divergence, wouldn't do that much- and most certainly would not make it crash. Dangerous? Yes. Stupid? Yes. But deadly?? Not at all. I still think they should be punished, but 14 years seems extreme.

Why can't we raise $400 in donations?

Few active members and not much happening in the hobby.

    Hello and goodbye. We're doomed!

Was a simple question, no need to freak out. But by the same token, think about it...The lasers people build here are not commercially, and some random Joe on the street isn't going to make one himself without coming to these forums...The problem is the mass of increasingly cheap ~1W 445's on...

3D printed laser hosts and/or heatsinks

Sure, but not for anything that actually needs heatsinking. You would be better off printing a host that has an area for an actual metal heatsink. Also, how is power getting from your battery->through the host->to the diode/driver? The metal filament may be conductive, but I doubt it's that...

    DPSS blue on DX?

There are no inefficient module surplus, because there are no 473 modules mass produced...or hardly produced at all, save CNI and JL. Since they are so expensive, if they don't meet spec, the parts are reused, not dumped into the random chinese market. Even the "cheap" 473 styropyro got off DX a...

    A140/A-type 140 Laser Diodes (followup)

Except >465 isnt super great for color mixing in projectors. Commercial use diodes won't get much higher.

Re: WTB: A140/A-type 140 Laser Diodes Lol, more like have a handful of diodes worth nothing at that point.
