It happens. I still have crystals from 1W 532nm CST laser , but they need at least 10W IR diode, as I tried to use 3W and got nothing.

I agree with you, there’s simply no reason to take it out. Unless electricity goes off and you are out of AC power :)

On AC Power Suppy is written 5V—8A it’s 40W of electrical power. Or I don’t know something? AC doesn’t get even warm, not having much load on it.

I don’t have spectro yet. I can say that it starts to flicker orange/red/yellow past 2A can’t keep it stable, it’s getting hot within seconds.

So, I did an experiment with yellow crystals. Results are amazing with 980nm diode. I get like 60/40 yellow/orange proportion. Results were different with stock LD. I guess they are both 980 and 976 pumping crystal, but with different proportions. Laser diode...

It’s 2W 976-980nm diode. They do not have IR filter so keep in mind that. At least leak is not huge and stays around 10-15mW. :wave: I have a spare crystal from one unit and 4W 980nm IR LD. Must have to experiment. I can try TEC cooling crystal, but it’s small and requires additional brass plates.

That’s totally safety issue, I saw a video of drone crashing into plane’s winglet. They should really think what they are doing and what are the risks of such behavior.

I did this before, but in your case additional parts will be needed, I compensated short module with 30mm in length and 20mm in diameter aluminum pipe, because holding ring can’t reach that far. And something you can spring the module.
