    firm definition of dead thread

Bumping old threads has never gotten me into trouble as long as I've added useful information. This is especially the case for discussion threads, less so for question threads. For instance, it is not unlike me to bump one or two of the threads in the off topic section (the ones about electric...

    Post your random pics!

Look ma', I finally got me a tripod! I put it to good use as well, taking this picture: That picture doesn't look like anything special, but diverges into my other hobby and showcases an extremely rare thing on UK roads - a mercury vapour street light still standing and working, and on a main...

    Review: DL Spartan 589nm 50mw

But but .. it doesn't have beam variances, voltage diversions, flux jiggawatts and einsteins theory of relativity reproduced on the thread! Sure every user in the market wants one of these, and isn't at all simply interested in whether it works at the rated power

    Going back to lasers.

I do a bit. My hobbies aren't so much cyclical, but I pick them up, am fanatic about them for a year or so and then they go on the back burner. The beauty of it is I never forget them and the interest never fully wanes, and the knowledge gained goes towards making me a more well rounded person...

    The 35mm Laser Gallery

Portra 400 was one of my all time favourites, mainly because at 400 it's almost noise free and it can be pushed quite easily all the way to 1600. When you do, the film colour and grain takes on an almost "instagram filter" sort of look, only 1000x better. It also works with Kodak Gold 200...

    The 35mm Laser Gallery

Nice, glad to see these materialised + thanks for the mention Now you have learned similar to what I mentioned: blue and violet lasers just tend to wash out on film, and can even look like 473. Film does not like UV, or anything near it. Reds do indeed over power the film, you will also find on...

When were laser pointers at their peak of popularity?

^so basically, all the colours

    Returning Banned Members

That expands on my idea a little, but it could be a clusterfuck if it went even a bit wrong. I think the key thing here is as already discussed by Ped in a recent reply, the answer to this is in the forum software (lots of other forums do it) but for whatever reason, management won't implement...

    LPF's Favorite Christmas Songs

Jonah Lewie Stop the Cavalry. It's about the only one I have time for and it's in a playlist I play often all year round. Most of the others I can think of just sound materialistic and I'm a Scrooge anyway.

    *Feeler*considering an unconventional CNI laser.

I might be interested in this, mainly to get some visible 561 (if that's even possible) but I'm not sure. I'm considering selling up.

    Advice with life

I moved out at 16, I won't go into why but I will say that if I had stayed much longer I think my parents and I would have driven each other round the bend. I'm now 26 and have been through some college and am in a job which I have a love/hate relationship with. It's unfortunately not as easy...

    Bitcoin

I'm using coinbase at the minute as my buy and sell, but as my portfolio grows i'll split or offload that to other wallets. Not sure I have much faith in litecoin, and while some think DOGE will grow, the fact that there is an unlimited supply deters me. I currently have 1 BTC and about 6...

    Bitcoin

well. I bet those that have had bitcoins from the start are laughing (all the way to the bank) now? This is something that I've known about for years but never looked into, although I took great interest a few weeks ago and have been glued to the topic in my evenings ever since. Kicking...

    Cheated by tomfire1735

Plot twist: perhaps there never was a 561, (it was only used as a bait to garner quick interest) and the 589 sent to the OP was stolen? Not much made after postage I'm sure but still a quick buck. Who knows the OP and all of the other assholes on the forum using fake names could have quite a...

583.8nm and 589nm, the golden brothers

That's a nice colour and a very unique laser you have.

    New 589 build!! Only $ 8!!

That is seriously nice. I love 589 - I use a film canister on the end of my Spartan 589 to diffuse the light sometimes. It's like having your own personal SOX lamp!
