Fs: CUSTOM LASER HOSTS, NEW HOSTS ADDED TODAY 1/10/16

Re: Fs: 5 NEW HOSTS ADDED TODAY 5/1/15 Does the one on the left here have a plastic or metal clicky? http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k13/ehgemus/7A7EBC36-0F5F-40A6-9C8B-2E2EA4918780_zps2dpm5dii.jpg

    "The Blues" - 449, 460, 478, 495

It's not outside the realm of possibility that I could get a Nichia 462 to hit 480nm if I was willing to push it right to the 2.95A death point with an Edge Driver. So far, I've pulled back 3 or 4% from the point of true death. I'm a little apprehensive to try though, because I only have one...

USB Portable Powerful 12W Custom LPM

Don't go ad hominem just to avoid the (inconvenient) skepticism about the ability of that tiny heatsink to absorb 12W without a substantial rise in case temperature. In any event, I'm not taking issue with the fact that your LPM needs a power feed, I believe most do. I'm taking issue with the...

USB Portable Powerful 12W Custom LPM

$85 is a lot better than the original $150. I'm glad the price criticism of that original selling price was taken on board. While I still struggle to understand what you're paying for here if the USB is fake, and this doesn't actually contain any "brains" to interface with a PC, I suppose there...

USB Portable Powerful 12W Custom LPM

Wait, so this doesn't even interface with a PC? It's just the TEC, a heatsink, and an LED voltmeter, for $150?

USB Portable Powerful 12W Custom LPM

It's USB.... how does it not have data logging? Isn't that just a matter of the software running on the PC, not the LPM hardware? Can you show a photo of the software?

Inverting buck/boost - Case Positive Diode Driver

Many buck ICs are meant for driving P-Mosfets. What would you suggest for using them in your circuit? Drive a P-Mosfet that pulls the gate of the N-Mosfet high? I'm wondering whether the extra switching may add too much delay when dealing with high frequency (ie 1.5 to 2 MHz) ICs.

The REALLY Heavy Load - 30A test load

The resistors are through hole, so I'm not using the 90 degree kelvin leads that you'd use under a surface mount resistor. But I am using separate leads (not part of the current path) directly from the through holes, for vdrop measurement.

    NUBM41T1 interior break down

How do you open the array? If it's openable, I'll open mine.

Maybe it measures in Chinese Watts ;)

Radiant X4: A LPM for the masses at Illumination Supply!

Count me in for one. I'll take one, as soon as one is available. :) Is that CNC'd, and if so, did you get that done here in BC?

USB Portable Powerful 12W Custom LPM

Re: USB Portable Powerful Custom LPM Huh? Why is it priced so high? It's a no-name product, with no track record, that doesn't look terribly great, yet it's $20 more expensive than the Radiant? Also, I'm calling BS on the 12W rating. Maybe I'm too sceptical, but I don't believe that little...

    Big thanks to RHD.

I suppose this means I really need to take that wavelength out of my signature now eh? :(

Inverting buck/boost - Case Positive Diode Driver

That's smart. I think it would work in theory. One slight glitch is that if your IC's FB is say 1.25V, that could very well be higher than the voltage at the current sense monitor's SENSE+ terminal. It certainly won't work with a ZXCT1009 that takes its power from the line being sensed, but...

SuperBoost Drive (5.5+ amp boost driver)

Re: SuperBoost Drive For testing drivers, the best tool you can invest in is a $20 Lipo. Bench PSUs behave strangely with some switching drivers and cylindrical cells have their limits. But grab a 2,000 mAh 20C lipo, and you'll have no issue powering your drivers, and it will recharge quickly.

Inverting buck/boost - Case Positive Diode Driver

The challenge with that IC is that it disrupts the common (+). The AMC doesn't, which is why it works well here. I can't see a way to make that Linear chip common positive.

SuperBoost Drive (5.5+ amp boost driver)

Re: SuperBoost Drive I know I'm a broken record on this point, but it never, ever, makes sense to tease a switching driver at the design stage. It's tempting, because you make a great design in Eagle and naturally want to show it off. But with switching drivers, when it's a new IC and design...

No longer WTB: C Mount 5W 650nm Laser Diode

Sure, if you PM me, I'll send you the driver. Feel free to keep + use it after, I'll make myself another. If you think they have a scope they're tossing that would work for testing drivers (I would guess over 2 MHz is necessary), that would be fantastic. The challenge for me though, is space. I...
