    First Lab Laser Build

Ahh yes the time will come. Even though I am a "N00B" on this specific but on another (PF) not so much.Just now Im doing my first laser related job for a friend who owns a laser company many of you may know ( I wont get into details). Im building five 1.5watt 445nm lasers in flashlight hosts for...

    First Lab Laser Build

Also a ceramic cap never hurt. Also protects against those nasty spikes that diodes hate! There are many different threads in the drivers section that are based on the Lm317 regulator. I cant seem to pull up a thread for a tutorial but anyways. Have fun and be SAFE!

    1w laser flashlight

based on the price of the driver I would assume that it is a linear or buck driver. I have never used this driver but I know sites like o-like sell it. Maybe one of the VETs that has used it could chime in and provide some extra info on it.

    1w laser flashlight

Ya depending on the quality of the batteries. Also you need to choose the correct number of cells for the driver. What driver are you using? For example a groove2 driver is linear thus needing 2 cells to power it. For a flexdrive only one is required.

    1w laser flashlight

jayrobs kits are great! my personal suggestion for a first 445nm would be a c6 host and heatsink combo. Clif at Cajunlaser.com sells a host kit for $30! I'm personally building five 1.5watt 445nm lasers for Clif very soon. REMEMBER you will need a very good set of safety glasses for 1watt...

    First Build Nerf Gun mod

I would recommend a groove2 for this type of build. Also id stay clear of those AA too. Contact Clif at CajunLasers.com , he may be able to preset a driver for you to use for this build. He sells some rechargeable lithium cells that would provide longer run-times and more stable out puts (mW)...

    First Build Nerf Gun mod

Hmm very interesting design there. If you plan on keeping this build around for awhile I would highly recommend you wire a driver in there. Although the POT works for now all it takes is one slip of the hand and you could be powering the poor little diode with most of the power those AA...

    [HampsterMSR] 50mW 532nm "Power Rock" from O-like

No but I wouldn't recommend it, you always want to monitor batteries when charging. Or at least be able to react if something ever went wrong with one

    [HampsterMSR] 50mW 532nm "Power Rock" from O-like

Oh and make sure you put the battery in the charger before putting it in the wall. 

    [HampsterMSR] 50mW 532nm "Power Rock" from O-like

So when you say you charge it through the night is that with the battery in it. If you leave the battery in it you may want to order a new charger or ask Susie for a replacement. Personally I disagree with who ever said that the batteries that come with olike lasers are not good. I don't mind...

    [HampsterMSR] 50mW 532nm "Power Rock" from O-like

Hey man I think I have a few tips that will help! I own the battery and charger you have and I must say they are very buggy. My first charge the light stayed green the whole time for a total of 3 hours! When I came back to check the battery the light was red. I let it charge until the light...

    100mW 405nm build

The Plan: Ok let me start out by saying this is my first build. I have taken the oportunity and read the "noob" threads on here. My plan is to make ~100mW 405nm laser in a radio shack project box. i plan on running it on a single 9v battery and using a toggle switch. This is what i have...
