The Plan: Ok let me start out by saying this is my first build. I have taken the oportunity and read the "noob" threads on here. My plan is to make ~100mW 405nm laser in a radio shack project box. i plan on running it on a single 9v battery and using a toggle switch.

This is what i have picked up so far.

~A project box
~9v battery clip (and battery)
~A toggle switch ( two prongs, back of package reads "single pole throw (SPST) contact configuration, rated 40A, 12VDC, 20A, 24VCD

What i plan on buying

~PHR-805T 405nm laser diode [805T] - $9.99 : Cajunlasers Store

~AixiZ Module 12x30mm housing for 5.6mm laser diodes [AMOD1] - $3.99 : Cajunlasers Store

~Heat sink mount for 12mm laser modules [HTSNK] - $5.99 : Cajunlasers Store

~ and a driver ( any cheap suggestions are greatly apprieciated) :yh:

Questions

1.can i run this diode off a 9v battery?
2. what is a LOW cost driver that would work for this project?
3.where would i put the toggle switch?is it sodered on the positive lead coming from the battery)
4. what are the positive and negative pins on the diode stated above?

Thank Mike

Here is the 405/445 diode Pinout:

Build your laser in a C3 Host with 14500

For the driver, PM DTR to set up a Flexdrive For you.

Sounds like a nice easy one to start out with.
A project box will give you plenty of room.
Good Luck! :)
