How small is it? Have you tried to point the dot on nearer or further objects? It should be 2-6mm big dot from near... //edit. It is not for long range pointing. 5mW is not enaugh, and if your laser is focused on few meters range, so Yes, you can get 2mm dot. Nothing special.
