    Homemade deathray

Hello, I dò not like lasers that I can not see, every reflection on a metallic surface can be harmful (the same with visible lasers) and with bad luck you probably ask, who switched the light off? best regards Edgar

How to open this nice blue module

Hello, all my 5,6 mm DTR heat sinks are installed. So I have none left for my 505 nm laser project. Yesterday I started to turn a longer copper head for the DTR heat sink driver body. It will be 15mm to get the lens screwed in totally. To cut this M17*0,5 mm threads is a little bit tricky. I...

How to open this nice blue module

Hello, at the end, I did not open the 465 nm laser module. I cut the wires and put the module in the lathe and turned the Diameter down to 20,00 mm. Now it fits my homebuilt laser pointer. Although the Output is only 1,5 W, the beam is very visible. Yesterday I finished my 405 nm Laser with a...

    Pocket Laser 455 nm

Hello, if you click on the link from RedCowboy you can see what I mean. best regards Edgar

    Pocket Laser 455 nm

Hello, until now, I thought DTR has a small business. But now I can see he has mass production. best regards Edgar

Been Running Blue Laser Without Driver For Hours Of Run Time(Power increased)

Hello Paul, is that LPM really so bad? I bought the same one, because i could not find another LPM at this price. best regards Edgar

What is the problem with ball lense laser diodes?

Hello, today I finished my laserpointer with the 465 nm Diode from a module that I bougt from Techhood. I ordered it as a 3,5 W module. With the original 2,5 A the oputput with a glas lens is only 1500 mW. This is not much, although the beam is very visible. Maybe this open can diode dies...

My new build $495nm and 515 nm laser

Hello, I like the blue one, also the host is very nice. Which diode did you use? best regards Edgar

WHY so many 'necro posts' lately.

Hello, you see, people are different. It was one of the first questions of mine in this Forum, how to change this ugly black Background. best regards Edgar

What is the problem with ball lense laser diodes?

Hello, is this a a ball lens with a G2 lens in front of it? My 465 nm Diode seems to be an open Diode with a little window glued on the front end. I think this Diode is a good burner. During the test run I accidently smoked some rubber, that was 0,5 m away. best regards Edgar

    laser current measurement

Hello, I have also a dummy load with a 0,1 Ohm shunt to measure the current, but I like the easy work with this clamp. I set my 5500 driver for my 465 nm diode to 2,5 A with the dummy load and the clamp. For short time measurements the oscilloscope is nice. The problem is the 270 page manual...

What is the problem with ball lense laser diodes?

Hello, that sounds complicated. best regards Edgar

    laser current measurement

Hello, because I hate to cut connections to measure the current to a laser diode, I bought a cheap clamp multimeter. Attached you will see a picture with a comparison between the clamp meter and the power supply. If you set the multimeter to zero before, the results are nice, even at low...

What is the problem with ball lense laser diodes?

Hello, as I learned, most of the 465 nm power diodes have a ball lense. Some make a tight spot, some not. Decapping the diodes will decrease the lifetime of the diodes. Is it possible to use a second lense in front of the ball lense to improve divergence? I can make the special heat sink by...

WHY so many 'necro posts' lately.

Hello, what Do you mean with titles in blue? I use the setting with the white background. All titles are blue! best regards Edgar

Diode With 4+ Watts With Best Divergence?

Hello, yes, I mean the diameter of the threads. Are there bigger lenses on the market than 6.33 mm? best regards Edgar

Diode With 4+ Watts With Best Divergence?

Hello, yes, the NDB 7875 has approx. 3 W. Thinking about cutting, this Diode should work well. Where can I buy bigger lenses? I thought 9mm is the standard diameter. best regards Edgar

Diode With 4+ Watts With Best Divergence?

Hello, at the DTR side, the NDB 7875 has a much smaller dot than the NDB 7A75. Doesn`t that mean, that the divergence is better? best regards Edgar

    505 nm laser diode

Hello, The power supply was set on constant voltage. I did not limit the current! Best regards Edgar

    505 nm laser diode

Hello, this driver makes the spikes with my M 140 Diode: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Adjustable-445nm-450nm-473nm-1W-1-4W-2W-Blue-Laser-Diode-Driver-Power-3-5V-2-5A/254042113760?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Coming back to my 488nm Diode and the the 500 mW driver...
