405nm is not quite energetic enough to directly destroy the DNA inside bacteria unless at a very high power density. But at that point the heat itself would probably do a better job of killing said germs... just go for 273nm, the FDA has already confirmed it to be effective
Buy a 1W green laser. It burns, and you can rationalize the purchase by saying you will use it for star pointing in the future. It is incredibly helpful to point out stars with a powerful laser when trying to teach your friends about astronomy
Afaik leaving batteries at a stable charge should offer similar proportional degredation to had you been using them in that time.
The trick is to store them at their nominal storage voltage (3.7V per cell for a lithium ion/polymer battery).
Also best to keep them separate from the laser in...
I mean you're not cooling a CPU or anything right? Why can't regular old silicone thermal grease work?
Maybe for the super hot parts use some MX4 or MX5
Alot of times surfaces can react with laser light to make it visible, my 2W 845nm laser dot is just barely visible in a dark room for this reason afaik
Unless you are growing novel crystals to use in a laser, I see absolutely no reason making one should take more than 4 months (2 months for snail mail procurement of parts, 2 months for shipping back by snail mail, and a week or so for assembly)
If you paid big bucks for that, did it come with a manual? If not, maybe look into this: https://www.scribd.com/document/342824727/Laser-Green-DPSS-Green-Manual-RevA
From my understanding those older units output full power as soon as they are switched on and you jumper certain pins on the...
Probably some guy brutally DMed OP for saying that something is retarded in some post somewhere
Gotta be careful with this political correctness stuff, you might end up cancelling perfectly benign words/concepts which could inadvertently fan the flames of hatred... then again, some employers...
If you don't mind having 10 second duty cycles, you could always 3d print a host and just chuck the copper module in there and hope for the best
It's a bad idea but an idea nonetheless. If I didn't have so little time on my hands I would have loved to design some universal 3d models for laser...
Agreed.
One would have to be retarded to not comprehend that retarded is simply the adjective for retard, which is derived from the french word of the same name and means "slow".
Someone who is retarded has experienced a slowed mental development. It does become offensive if you start labeling...
If you don't have time to do proper complete research, survival laser is your best bet for sourcing non-diode parts (use DTR or eBay for the diodes).
Here's the build log from my 1W greenie: https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/newly-completed-1w-greenie.107169/
If you do have time though...
