ill be happy if i get some sort of streamers lol i can replace the ignition coil with a aftermarket higher current unit too :D they bought out a new version of the drive which is now IGBT driven and has a frequency and dwell time pot for adjusting the pulse to the coil, this might come in...

so would i go for a high ohms or relatively low ohms resistor bank? im going to get a RC charging circuit there of the capacitor with this too.

why will it kill the diode?

hahaa yeah, im not sure if the igntion coil puts out ac or dc, i seen a few diagrams with a HV diode in their so im thinking ac. my coil puts out ~30-40kV too so not sure if its too high for the spark gap. someone will chime in with more advice i hope :D

Did you measure your resonance frequency's Speedy? I had to order a small uF tank cap to raise my primary to meet the secondary resonance. I tuned my EVR microbrute by ear, but now i have a scope and function generator, i measured i was 70kHz off the mark! Ordered new tank caps for that also...

yeah i meant uH, i can change the test frequency on my inductance meter, i test at a frequency as close as i can to what it will resonate at, in this case its highest test frequency was 100kHz

i already know the value of L1 its 47uH* or measured at 46.8uH*

i had to wait on diodes primary wire, the toroid, the ground wire and fiber cable.

ok L1 is 46.8uH and i have C11 in 2.2nF 3.3nF and 4.7nF Dialing this into a resonant calculator, i get: 496kHz,404kHz,339kHz. where the secondary is resonating at 417kHz, the closest i could get was 3nF capacitor which will get me around 423kHz or im trying to find a series or parallel...
