no no no. the laser diode sits on-top of the tec inside the T0-3 package to cool the diode. the wires provide power to the laser diode and tec.

i have shined it at clouds before and i didnt get any noticeable reflections, wasnt looking for reflections tho. I cant its a multimode emitter and thats as focused as it gets without beam correction prisms.

Ive already done it:

Put my replacement IGBT's in today with new aluminum oxide insulators. Put my new tank cap in and tuned a bit, was 267/334 now its 334/321 more tuning to come soon. lil Video
