what optic is used in the last picture of the green laser beamshot with a yellow(ish) color beam. is this a trick of the camera or an optic??

has anyone ever heard of using like a mirror or a dichroic filter as in this post... shine back into the laser and cause problems????

maybe someone could show me the basic layout of a scanner and how it is supposed to work... just trying to see what i am getting in to. wanting to build a RGB scanner 20K or 30K. looking for a good starting point.

yes it is a hexagon shaped motor head with mirrors on each side. also some nice FS mirrors. the motor will make a nice liquid sky... it looks very similar to this:

anyone know anything about the lasers and optics in a laser printer. i have a dell color laser printer, and took it apart (it needed a new fuser, roller kit, and control board).

you say that you are testing using a resistor. you should have you VOM on the lowest mV . NOT mA. connect the output of the laser driver to the resistor. set VOM to Volts (millivolts) and measure across the resistor. the reading is your driver output.

try to boot off of the win xp cd-rom. select install windows. let it find your previous windows installation. select repair windows installation. this will NOT reformat your PC. it just copies the windows system back to their original state from the cd-rom

too many laser / electronics geeks with TOOOOO much time on their hands. (guilty as well, steering wheel of work van, wallet, etc..)

anyone know what the scanpro 20's run in price and what is included / needed?

this is the DDL driver (Daedal). a forum member is the one greatly responsible for this driver. it uses a lm317 as a voltage regulator and requires 3V above what the laser diode uses. this driver can be built using radioshack parts. easy to build just connect the dots (terminals / wires) as in...
