In the OP, it was stated he didn't have the "Ports" tree. I still say this is where the problem started, and still is. There should have been a ports tree under device manager. I have Vista and I had the Port tree from the beginning.

I saw that post but I wanted just wanted to offer a couple of things from my perspective since I have a Vista OS and the same LPM working.

Do you have an older computer were Vista wasn't the original OS? I'm wondering if it's an OS vs older harware because those ports should already be there. I don't understand why you had to install them manually through the "Add Legacy Hardware" feature. Sorry, I wish I had better answers for ya.

I have Vista 32-bit and mine installed ok. After reading through this thread, I think the only thing I did differently was I installed both the PL-2303 and the HL-340. EDIT: I just noticed in your pic, it looks like your two drivers under the port tree have yellow exclamation point warnings...

Good advice every one. T.J. absolutely right with the pedialyte, thats the best but gaterade/powerade will work if you can't get the pedialyte. I miss my days of working in a hospital. I would get a buddy of mine to start and I.V. then bolus 2 liters of L.R. (lacted ringers, good I.V. fluid)

Your avatar is awesome!!! I don't know how many mA the driver is. I'm not even sure what type of driver it is, maybe a buck driver? I think more testing is needed with these modules. Or even if someone buys one and takes the stock driver off and does some bench testing with the diode would...
