read the guide in my sig... M :)

Single cell driver that can run LOCs adjustable or not...dont care

This may not be the answer to your question but I've had some success using microboost drivers with 14Nxxx diodes in front and in series with the LD. These satisfy the forward voltage of the driver specs and as long as you insert the correct number of diodes between the driver and the laser...

    Visible green laser??

TJ only quoted the lasers he has, not suggestions for you to buy. Research is the only way if you want to build them yourself and that's eminently possible to do. Check out the guide in my sig for the basics on homemade. M :)

how to make laser burn (pics later) (noob here)

Read the link in my sig and build your own. It'll give you great satisfaction and do what you want it do. M :)

How do you store your laser collection?

Errr, to be honest there a lasers everywhere! No kids, no likehood of thieves and no civil authorities are invited over so few physical precautions. Walk into any room and there's likely to be a laser nearby. If there's no laser then something waiting for one to be installed or a part for one...

Maybe sometime it'll get stickied... Here's a question, if I'm not around to update the thread, can I hand over permissions to someone else? M :)

    ATTENTION AixiZ customers worldwide-new site!!

Well done Len, thanks for the new link, +1, (and thanks for the welcome back, I did spot it. ;) Still very busy in general but I've a few days to myself which explains my seemingly regular presence. Next week it's back to work!) M :)

    New - "A better 1W budget boost driver" - AK-007

It should probably be pointed out that these drivers are going to be very happy to suck your LiPo batteries well below the safe discharge levels. The drivers may only be a few bucks but having to replace your batteries will quickly turn your purchase into a false economy, if not a risky business...

    First laser build, advice welcome

Hmmm, I'm not so sure I trust these LED drivers myself. I haven't heard any reports of failures with the 445s, (but then again, I'm not sure just what you have to do to kill one of those! Time was when the mere mention of direct driving from a battery would have you instantly flamed!), but if...

    First laser build, advice welcome

If you mean, "Microboost", this is a boost only driver manufactured by a member called Dr.Lava and was specifically tailored to drive high power bluray diodes up to 12x, (circa 700mW max), "Flexdrive", is also made by Dr.Lava and is a buck/boost driver well suited to most other diodes. Both are...

The, "I want to build a laser", Thread

@ InMetal - Yes, the pinouts you have there are correct for a Long Open Can diode, or LOC, that can also be found in the LPC-815 sled, (picture above found in the Diode Compilation thread for others coming after ;) ). The diode you are after looks like this - In heatsink -...

    HELP!!! yobresal/survial 445 broken!

Photos of the damage? You can either have a go at repairing it yourself, (many here would), or send it to someone near you who will fix it for you, (This might be free of charge depending if you catch someone in a good mood but you should expect to pay a modest fee). There could be some...

    Hello Laser Pros!!!

Welcome also! The, "INDEX", thread is a great resource. The links in my sig also point to it and may help you out with some of the basics. Remember to have fun, but be safe! M :)

    PWMing verse DC output.

This link always helped me to understand why a constant current is important. I'm guessing most of the electrical engineers in this thread will understand but some others may benefit from watching it. YouTube - Constant Current vs. Constant Voltage in use with Laser Diodes M :)

Newbie & IR and some other questions

Along with Wolfman29's comments on the laser probably, (definitely!), being underspec the statement on that page says these will not be shipped to the US. Not knowing just where in the world you are I don't know if that affects you but it's something to read again and bear in mind. There are...

    My pocket custom ~700mw

^ I thought as much. I've had similar issues but never thought to do that. I just ran without a centre and a very well tightened chuck! Thanks for clarifying. I look forward to seeing the finished article. M :)

    INDEX (work in progress)

Gonna link this thread in the thread of mine you have linked to as well! Hope that all makes sense! Good line up there sir. M :)

    My pocket custom ~700mw

Nice hosts there GBD. I have to ask though... Why the extra dead centre in the pic in post #15? Issues about getting the tool to the workpiece? M :)

The, "I want to build a laser", Thread

^ Just do a search for the drive numbers on LPF. I did that and there are many posts referring to this drive. It would appear that it contains a LOC but briefly scanning the threads it seems harvesting may be tricky. Hey Kevlar - Yes, the studying had been taking up most of my waking thoughts...
