Lipo battery for running an NUBM37

Thanks for all your help. I thought about using the LM338 in the TO-220 package, then decided to opt for the simple premade and less time-consuming option. I am trying to model Styro's hand-held. I picked up a radar gun and gutted it. I'm waiting on other components. Heatsink is here on Monday...

Lipo battery for running an NUBM37

I understand. I think if I just lower my expectations and keep to the spec of 98V @ 3A concept instead of 4.5A, split into two strings of 12 each, I can be at 49V @ 6A @ 294W and that may be an easier pill to swallow. Then the consideration becomes the input to the driver. I am trying to make...

Lipo battery for running an NUBM37

My plan is to run a single driver to an NUBM37 and configure the NUBM37 as 2 parallel strings of 12 diodes each. So, the driver needs to be capable of 55v at 4.5a. I have these drivers in mind: Drivers Driver Driver The batteries I'm thinking of using are two Lipo 14.8v in series. Batteries...

OPHIR 20C A-1-Y LPM Head $400 on eBay

I'm glad to hear that you received what you believe to be an original. But the $130 customs duties was a "kick in the shorts" and probably partial reason for the original price.

Well, if you are bidding on it, then you have done a fine job of showing it to thousands of other potentially interested competitive bidders...

Driver for NUBM31 and for similar MDP chips sold on ebay/ali

OK, I am going to start off with feeding it with a 33v @ 10.5a CC power supply. I'm working off some Ohms law and the spec sheet and it drops 4.1v @ 3a. Because it's a diode, it should only take a few tenths of a volt to get it up to 4a - 4.5a.

Driver for NUBM31 and for similar MDP chips sold on ebay/ali

    Thanks. For 2 rows in series I'd need 41V @ 3A (or about 55v @ 4A "over driven"), correct?

Best Practice in purchasing NUBM31t or MLD's

I will do. I also ordered a 3" x 3" round aluminum bar and I have Cooler Master Mastergel Pro V2 compound to use. I will secure it with four 6-30 x 1/2 flatheads. Do you think it needs to be electrically isolated? Safety is a must.... I don't even operate my Nichia '44's without my eye protection.

Planning on Building an Actively-Cooled Micro Laser

Yup, pretty much everyone heres does... I mean those credentials... But you ain't gonna need no active heat piping massive cooling with a cooling fan, etc. for a NUBM44 your only gonna light up for 15 seconds then cool down and light up again. I put mine in a laser pointer with SDX driver...

Best Practice in purchasing NUBM31t or MLD's

Hello. What would be the best practice, rule of thumb, in purchasing a NUBM31t LD? or is it just a crap shoot? How can a person decide if a purchase is a fair deal or not? Are OSRAMS less desirable than Nichia?

    Clean Batteries = Brighter Beam

A Q-Tip swab of WD-40 can also be very beneficial to preventing tarnish/oxidation. Just needs a very thin coat.
