Not a fluke. According to LaserLands, the diode they're selling is the three beam version. It's a cool diode. I like it. No photos of the die, sorry.

There's also a 500mW diode. This may very well be that diode. It's slightly cheaper than the 700mW. I'd echo the comment that you need to request power graphs.

To be frank, this isn't a 3D printer, and I think it would be misguided, or at least unnecessary, to criticize the acrylic frame of the cheaper models. These parts weigh very little, the speeds are slow, and the acrylic frame is substantially sturdier than it needs to be. I cannot imagine that...

Here's a new revision, 3D printed. The new design keeps the array external, and makes for a much more natural feel in the hand. This was printed on low quality, with gray filament, basically just to get hand-feel right. I'm going to make a few tweaks, and then print on a higher quality...
